ReadTheGreatControversyEGW Posted September 12 #1 Share Posted September 12 Music can be both calming and disturbing. Music can help you relax and unwind from a stressful day. But music channeling spirits? That's a new one for most -
newbloodmoon Posted September 12 #2 Share Posted September 12 I hope this post isn’t trying to incite the ‘Satanic Panic’ that started in the 80’s. I remember it being ridiculous back then and would be even more so now. So serious question, how is spirit summoning in music any different then say summoning the Holy Ghost/Spirit/Whatever? Beyond the spiritual spook allegedly being (according to some religious beliefs) one of the good guys that is. 3

Antigonos Posted September 12 #6 Share Posted September 12 Supposing channeling spirits were even possible, why is the thought of such a thing automatically evil to you? What specific SDA propaganda are you parroting? It must be torture living in constant self imposed fear of everything. You’ve created your own private hell in which you have been taught that thinking for yourself is a bad thing. You do know that many of the most ardent Victorian Spiritualists were Christians? A rhetorical question. Of course you don’t.
eight bits Posted September 12 #7 Share Posted September 12 OK, Tim Curry might be a generational thing (and a tad innocent when you get right down to it). How does the video preacher feel about Sam Smith, say?

This is yet another satanic panic thread. I guess the course of this thread will be determined by the OP and how willing we all are to participate.
Guyver Posted September 12 #10 Share Posted September 12 Instead of focusing on Satan again, I was hoping the OP could produce some evidence of Jesus healing the sick children in todays modern world. I guess threads like that don’t happen because it’s not happening. But yes, let’s all be afraid that evils spirits will attack us while listening to music. Sigh. 4
eight bits Posted September 12 #11 Share Posted September 12 I don't know, @Guyver - music and spirits isn't so bad a topic. Hard to say which is older, music or religion, but they've been together for a long time. And who can deny that music can elicit changes in consciousness? The OP has let us play, too. No preaching from him (yet) except the opening video, and that's not so bad. It's short, mostly about how there is a difference between godly music and not so godly. Fair enough. The video didn't define either category, just claimed biblical authority that a distinction can be made. I wonder if that's easy to discern. Here's a stunner taken from a Catholic Requiem Mass (a well-established musical form). Is it good because it's religious (biblical actually), or bad because it's Roman Catholic? It's not easy to be SDA. 6

ReadTheGreatControversyEGW Posted September 13 Author #17 Share Posted September 13 Manager at Zodiac Productions, Ex-Druid John Todd, states in this interview: - the 'master' copy of the record is taken into a temple room and demonic spirits are conjured into it, to follow every record or tape that is cut off it. - you have to be an initiated witch to get a record contract now - rock music is not just a song, it is supernatural music that witches carefully design by their spirit guides or familiar spirits (aka devils) - much of the songs are written in 'witch language' words that mean something else - kiss says their church (ordained ministers in the church of satan) placed them together -- Read a post in the 'Stories, Sightings & Experiences' forum once... with a person telling his story of how he's a musician and he would listen to a particular group (I won't say who). He described encountering a half goat half woman evil being while listening to the music. He stood looking, shocked and finally slammed the laptop shut but it was too late. I wished I had made better note of it because I can't find it again but he gave a huge long exhausted list of different rock musicians saying they receive help from spirits, have agreements with them and so on. He describes how the demonic being that appeared to him got involved with his music productions as well. He said he couldn't get rid of it and it's always following him, but he ended up just accepting the situation and trying to cope with it. There is a positive correlation between the rise of the occult and spiritual attacks. 6
