Trans woman refused healthcare in France

"I only treat real women" - that's what French gynaecologist Victor Acharian told a 26-year-old transgender woman he refused to treat in his clinic in the south-west of the country recently.

The transgender woman, accompanied by her boyfriend, went to a gynaecological appointment when, after minutes of waiting, the secretary told her that the doctor had refused to see her.

"I thought I was being honest when I said it wasn't my speciality. I don't know how to treat them and I don't mind being called ignorant," he added.

"You're transphobic!" the young woman reportedly shouted as she left the consulting room. According to the gynaecologist, the patient began to insult his secretary, reacting violently to the refusal.

This is a little misleading because the doctor didn't refuse healthcare. He simply told them that treating someone who had transgendered was outside of his expertise. He offered to get them help from another doctor who is trained.

There are physiological differences between the male body and the female body in all forms of healthcare. Cardiologist now recognize that women present heart issues differently than men. More doctors are training to provide care to transgenders of both sexes but the patient needs to be honest with the doctor and cooperative with their treatment. The article explains his position well. He didn't treat someone that he didn't feel he knew how properly. It could have been something that went wrong with the surgery.

He acknowledges that he didn't respond the way he should have and apologized for it.

This.  Exactly this.  Click bait headline.

It is clickbait. It raises an interesting question though. If someone is legally recognised as a particular gender, can someone deny them healthcare for that gender? If they can, then on what grounds? That they are not really their new gender? Then should they get legal recognition?

Refusing to treat someone based on gender (sadly) varies from state to state but that isn't what happened in this situation.

In the story in the first link it isn't based on that.

It would be like insisting a dentist do heart surgery.

Not really. It would be like insisting a heart surgeon do heart surgery and a dentist do dental work. If a transwoman, being a woman, insists she is suffering from, say, amenorrhoea, shouldn't this be investigated? Even if it meant consulting a specialist?

Just need to correct one part - You`re transphobic the young pretend women reportedly shouted as he left the consulting room lol

Now I have that out the way what is a gynaecologist supposed to do? Its not lady parts, he doesn`t have the training what to do.

He did offer to recommend a doctor that would be able to assist them. Really, she surely knows who the doctor was that did her surgery. If there was a problem, they would be the one to see.

I think she went there deliberately to cause trouble. She must know she hasn't got any lady bits to need attention. It's like those gay men who ordered a cake from a Christian vendor- they know they are going to be refused but they are making a point that they can take to court. My point is (if she does so) if the court agrees she is a woman, then she is entitled to gynae investigations and maternity care, etc.

If she insisted she had gynae problems, and the court does not agree she is a woman, perhaps the specialist doctor would be a psychiatrist. But that would be suggesting her trans status is delusional.

I tend to agree with Richard Dawkins and JK Rowling- males and females are different. And as the French might say "Vive la difference!"

"He justified himself by saying that he had "no skills to treat men, even if they have shaved their beards and come to tell my secretary that they have become women".

He sounds eminently sensible.

The truth don't care about your feelings. There comes a time when the absurdity of leftist famtasies and their insistence that everyone else play along, becomes readily apparent.
