Is the UK finally admitting that unchecked migration is a danger to its citizens?

UK Health Authorities Erect Biohazard Tents Following Influx of Sick Migrants, Spark Fears of Outbreak (eutimes.net)

Welcome to the big time, ladies and gents.  Nipah has a fatality rate of roughly 75%.  It can be spread human to human but requires very close contact with aerosols or bodily fluids.  Screening migrants for illnesses has been a part of immigration for over a century but these days the priority in many western nations seems to be to get as many moved in, as fast as possible without concern for the health of the "host" nation.

Which had me scratching my head why the floodgates were open at the southern border for migrants during covid

if screening for illness has always been standard procedure on immigration.

My wife and I have decided that the metric we'll be using the next time the media starts spreading "warnings" about a new, deadly virus, is to watch the homeless populations in cities around the nation.  If they begin dropping like flies, we'll take the warnings seriously, but we still will not be compelled to follow government restrictions.  Liars pay a price in loss of trust.

BTW, the thread is not intended to find fault with the UK.  It's more a hope that OUR government will follow suit.

Nipah has a fatality rate of roughly 75%.  It can be spread human to human but requires very close contact with aerosols or bodily fluids.

Nipah is confined to a district named Kozhikode in the small state of Kerala in India.  It is not that contagious and the outbreaks was  confined to Kozhikode in 2018 and contained successfully in a short span of time.

The latest outbreak in 2023 is similarly confined to Kozhikode along with 2 casualties and have been similarly contained.

From the source article:

Quote

In a statement, the UK Home Office wrote:

“Precautionary measures, such as staff wearing protective clothing and enhanced cleaning were taken, in line with UK Health and Safety Agency guidance, following reports of some small boat arrivals being unwell.”

“This is a routine response with prearranged protocols which are designed in cooperation with the UKHSA.”

I don't think this is actually anything particularly unusual ?

There's no mention of anyone here being infected with the Nipah virus.

The Daily Mail and similar newspapers are also silent on the matter - if there was a risk of a Nipah outbreak it would be all over the front pages.

I've just Googled The European Union Times. It won't be my "go-to" for news. I wonder why they have linked reported illness in Dover with an outbreak of a disease in India?:

The European Union Times is a "news" site that presents utter neo-Nazi b******s.

It certainly looks the part. It has lots of mainstream advertising served by ContextWeb, it's got a nice WordPress theme, and its articles on Barack Obama have been widely linked by Tea Party blogs,[citation needed] presumably pleased to find a news site that supports some of their views. All standard for a libertarian or Republican newssite.

Upon closer inspection, however, it is little more than a regurgitator of news stories that paint blacks, Hispanics, and Jews in a bad light. Beyond that, it is a particularly unpleasant far-right blog with the information standards of InfoWars. The reporting is, without exception, shockingly unprofessional.

A lot of things didn't add up on covid between 2020 & 2022. Releasing inmates out of prison. Politicians caught violating their own covid rules.

The media calling spring breaks Super Spreaders but didn't address the riots where people gathered also.

Had to wear a mask in restaurants, but once seated, you can take them off. Then allowing illegals into the country, unchecked.

Then I commend the UK's government.  Their migrant problem is nothing near the chaos we are enduring here.  We know that at a minimum, we've added over 4 million people to our population and something around 10% are totally unvetted, even unidentified.  We are already seeing rising rates of diseases that have been essentially wiped out here as a concern for major outbreaks.  Perhaps I should have added the US in the title as well.

The point is, when massed numbers of unvetted, even unidentified people flow into a nation without even basic health exams, there is no way of knowing the risks until the outbreak is underway.  Nipah is only one example of a viral infection that could have a devastating CFR that would make Covid-19 pale by comparison.

Nipah should not be compared with Covid-19.

Nipah is not that contagious and it has been contained easily in 2018 and 2023 in Kozhikode district, with all casualties just more than a dozen.

It was Covid which reaped havoc in India with around 5 lakh casualties most of them being the elderly.

Follow what? The UK hasn't got a coherent immigration policy. We have a points based system that legally lets in anyone from anywhere around the world as long as they have sufficient points, and an open door policy (no asylum checks) for illegal migrants. Our newspapers run constant stories about the immigration chaos we are experiencing.
