Farage has (rather stupidly) admitted that foreign media influence swung the referendum result

Farage has (rather stupidly) admitted it was foreign media influence that brought about a Leave win in the referendum: https://x.com/Nigel_Farage/status/1704909456323350717?s=20

And as further evidence that "Taking Back Control" meant the millionaires and billionaires could take control of the UK and take control away from parliament and democracy, Sunak waited for parliamentary recess before announcing the biggest shakeup of our economy since Brexit:

The Speaker of the House of Commons has reacted furiously to Rishi Sunak choosing to announce his new green policy in a press conference rather than addressing MPs.

Sir Lindsay Hoyle criticised the way the “major policy shift” was being unveiled while the Commons is in recess for party conferences, robbing the lower chamber of the chance to scrutinise the changes.

The Speaker said MPs have “expressed their disquiet” on the handling of the announcement, which he said was “not the way to do business”.

Can you explain how giving citizens the right to vote on such a decision is equivalent to taking "control away from parliament and 'democracy'"?

Thanks for asking an interesting question: how can giving people a vote be undemocratic? It isn't, of course. But the goal, Brexit, was designed to reduce the role of parliamentary democracy, and has been successful in that respect:Untruthful Brexit rhetoric has undermined representative democracy in the UK | LSE BREXIT

But you don't need to research the subject, just accept simple facts like: Johnson attempting to prorogue parliament to prevent MPs debating his deal; IDS trying to stop MPs debating the terms of the WA; details of trade agreements not being debatable until they have been agreed; having an unelected and unelectable bureaucrat as chief negotiator (Lord Frost); the normalising of dishonesty in the HoC; Ministers briefing the press before debating policy; describing the judiciary as "enemies of the people"; attacks on the Civil Service for not agreeing to break the law; requiring photo ID to address a non-existent problem (even JRM called it "gerrymandering")- the list is almost endless.

To invalidate our opinion he looks for excuses.

From lack of education to outside propaganda.
