NEW YORK, Sept 26 (Reuters) - A New York judge found Donald Trump and his family business fraudulently inflated the value of his properties and other assets, in a major defeat for the former U.S. president that could severely restrict his ability to do business in the state.

The scathing decision by Justice Arthur Engoron of the New York state court in Manhattan will make it easier for state Attorney General Letitia James to establish damages at a scheduled Oct. 2 trial.

I guess they couldn't announce ANOTHER indictment on such short notice so when THIS: came out of Comer's committee 4 hrs ago, they needed some smoke ;)

Hunter Biden received $260K from Beijing during dad’s campaign — with dad Joe’s address on wire: Comer (msn.com)

Let the sycophant spinning begin in 3, 2, 1...

Sycophant  #something checking in.

No smoke needed, they are separate issues, if they were not I would say the half-ass  Congressional  effort is the smoke screen.

But we are supposed to be investigating whether Joe Biden can be impeached and convicted for abusing his office.  He may be a crook, can we prove it?

The Trump issue is a business issue that was not connected to any actions he took while in office.

We are not limited to a single crook in the government, we can have 2 or more

Please don’t placate the guy, let’s keep this thread on topic. His comments were made to try and derail this thread.

The Supreme Court’s decision ties Trumps hands in all future real-estate deals. In addition to a undisclosed amount of money in fines, that will be in the multi millions.
Trump fraud ruling is the 'corporate death penalty' for Donald Trump's real estate empire, experts say: https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-fraud-ruling-corporate-death-penalty-for-his-empire-experts-2023-9

The first paragraph orders the immediate cancellation of any "certificates," meaning corporate licenses, that are held by Trump, his two adult sons, Trump Organization, and its underlying LLCs.

The second orders that "within 10 days of the date of this order, the parties are directed to recommend the names of no more than three potential independent receivers to manage the dissolution of the canceled LLCs.

Hi Grim

It affects the whole family as they will never hold a position of authority in any business so basically all they will be is silent investors with no say. Looks good on him.

I edited my post, and added additional information go back and take a look at it. This Supreme Court decision effectively like you said above effectively destroys the Trump Organization, but he’s getting what he deserves!:tu:

Much as I hate to say it, I don't think Trump will be that easy to pin down.  I think there'll be some sort of legal action filed by his lawyers over this.

I am certain he will try, but the Supreme Court’s decision is pretty much final.

Daniel Andrews resigned from Australian politics. Perhaps you guys could make him an offer to be president. He is a better politician than Trump or Biden ever could be.

There's an interesting quote in the article (a point I hadn't noticed elsewhere): "Engoron rejected Trump's motion for the case to be summarily dismissed, while ordering members of his legal team to pay sanctions for pushing "indefensible" arguments in the motion."

Things are getting hot for his legal team, then.  He's had trouble keeping lawyers (possibly because he fires them himself)... I had read (rumor, I believe) that none of the top firms will represent him.

Hi Kenement

Yes he hit each of them with a $,7.500 fine each for trying too bring up an argument that had been dismissed in past hearings. This judge is letting Trump and his team know he he isn't playing around with bs
