There's a bad storm all over the area and moving north. I'm west of NYC and inland enough to only have clouds and some light rain. New York City is really flooded badly but so is some of the surrounding areas, including parts of New Jersey. PIX 11 is a New York City station. A lot of coverage stories in link.

Yeah. I have PIX 11 on my cable and I was watching it at noon. It's bad. Subways are flooded and a lot of public transportation was stuck on flooded streets along with cars and other vehicles. They have to get kids home from school too.  I'll put it on again for the 4 o'clock news to see how things are going now. Rush hour is going to be a mess.

PIX is leading off with the weather. It's still raining hard and not expected to slow down until later this evening. There will still be showers until tomorrow morning. JFK airport has recorded the most rain ever, 6 inches as of now. Long Island is flooding too. The lake in Prospect Park in Brooklyn is overflowing. The streets look like rivers. Schools, businesses and homes are flooded. A lot of streets are closed and public transportation via trains and subways is suspended. Commuters are trying to find their way. Buses are running. There's still a large area under a state of emergency. JFK just updated to 7.78 inches. As the rain gets lighter tonight the water will recede quickly. You can get on PIX home page in the link to find other news releases as to what's being reported.
