The doubtful convictions of Donald J. Trump - Opinion Piece Published by The Hill

Indicted four times on a total of 91 criminal charges, former President Donald Trump has not yet gone to trial. And so, at present, Trump is, in more ways than one, a man with no convictions — other than those that serve his own personal and political interests. People often have two reasons for their actions: a good reason (aimed at others) and the real reason. Trump’s “good reason” is his promise to millions of people who feel marginalized to make them and America “Great Again.”

His real reason, however, is staying out of jail, returning to power and exacting revenge against everyone who has criticized, opposed, wronged or betrayed him. Trump claims he has no choice, because American politics has become “cheap and dirty,” and “they’re doing it to us. But Americans do have a choice. Casting our votes wisely and well requires determining whether a candidate’s claims are principled or self-serving.

Yea , IMO , many politicians do this at times , but Trump is especially good at it , he will tell anyone anything he wants them to hear to get his way. Switch it on a dime if need be as well , whether it's lies or not. Make it look like there's something out to get him and us as the american people as well . So he paints someone and something as a culprit and makes it look like he's needed to save everyone and he's the hero. But really , it's all about him , him , him first. We've always known he has narcissistic tendecies to put it mildly. But how anyone can trust what a guy like this says is puzzliing to say the least.

Great Post and I agree with you completely!  However, do you realize that you just explained the exact method that Adolf Hilter used to come to power in 1933. :) I suppose great minds think alike and that must be why Trump and Hitler have so much in common!!!

What is playing out in the West in general and 'Murica in particular over the last 5 decades reminds me of an ancient Chinese curse, which when I first heard it, made me chuckle and disregard it, and then later, upon reflection... made me shudder.

"May you live in interesting times."

I get your point Grim,   but I honestly believe that neither have/had great minds.   I see both of their minds as completely flawed.   Megolamaniacs display similarly.?      But , of the two, I see Hitler as more honest.. I think he may have actually believed some of what he said.?    ..whereas, Heir Drumpf   grants no importance to the difference between fact or falsehood. .and nearly convinces himself that anything he says is true.

I see your point, and I agree with you I certainly could have used some different wording to express my thoughts. As far as, the rest of your comments above I totally agree with you.

Thanks for your post!!!!!!!:tu:

@Grim Reaper 6    Your remark was right on…. They do seem an awful lot alike.     (I tend to overanalyze English sometimes;)

@Grim Reaper 6  yup,  understandable.    I just read the article you linked…pretty interesting illustration of trump’s derailed trains of thought.    He seems to say anything ,at any given moment, that he sees as serving his purpose.  Donald  (flip flop)  Trump.

Normally, I don't post opinion pieces, I only did so this time because the gentleman's thoughts were not based upon bias. It was very obvious he had researched the subject, so his comments were based upon obvious flaws within Donald Trump's personality. In addition, the article was published by the least bias media source I am aware of, The Hill.
