The Pascarell family is no stranger to unique animals. But to their six dogs, three cats, four horses, 11 fish and one hamster, add the strangest pet yet: a tiny two-headed turtle.

The terrapin was found by Gabrielle, 9, one of three children of Rob and Rebecca Pascarell. The family lives in a sprawling country house on six acres that include a one-acre pond.

Cutest turtle!! I wonder if the two headed thing was a problem with it's development in the egg, maybe it was supposed to be two turtles, and just not fully seperated, like in siamese twins?? wub.gifrolleyes.gif

  • 5 weeks later...

Here's a little bit more about the two-headed terrapin found last month - thanks to Dj for providing the extra details + photo.

A two-headed young tortoise is held by its owner, Noel Daniels, in Wellington, South Africa, Wednesday, May 28, 2003. Daniels says that the tortoise does all the things a normal tortoise does and that the rare phenomena occurs during the embryonic stage of development.
