trevor borocz johnson Posted November 20, 2023 #1 Share Posted November 20, 2023 Prophecy is an attempt to make us safer I believe. But dreams can be influenced by hallucinating. They can describe events that are entirely influenced by talking to 'angels'. So the quandry is how safe is it to talk to angels to create the safest future? Is the future controlled by voices? are dreams pariedolia? can looking into pariedolia read into the future? I think prophets have special circadian clocks and that gravity, the balance system, sleep, dreams, are the talent of a good prophet. I recently read that pulling an all nighter can work wonders for your mental health. It's no joke that emotions are attached to the vestibular. I guess the skill of prophecy is probably pretty obtainable its just most people are disinterested. Here's a picture of pariedolia that maybe some of you can see the prophecy in.... trevor borocz johnson Posted November 20, 2023 Author #2 Share Posted November 20, 2023 Maybe magic was put in the bible to make light of lying? Like to defy nature can be put into a book but its playful? Is the point? Not all deception has to be evil? It can marvel people who don't understand? +DieChecker Posted November 23, 2023 #6 Share Posted November 23, 2023 Projections if low fertility show populations crashing from like 10 trillion at the max to less then a trillion in like 300 years. Maybe faster. Every major nation is now preparing for population drop. Depends on what happens when the population drops enough. May revert to more primitive forms of government, and science/technology may suffer as a result. History shows several technological collapses followed by "dark ages". Could easily happen to us too. Especially when the oil runs out.

I read somewhere it was around 20% more on average. Seems to me like the perfect time to take a long walk with GOD, and straighten-out any issues. I've not heard of such a trend worldwide. I do know that I've read articles on Japan, China, Russia, Brazil, Korea, and most of the EU, and even most of the Middle East... That young people are saying raising kids is too expensive and too hard. Takes away from one's own time to fill wants and needs. And many of these nations are actually providing bigger and bigger incentives to have more kids, but few are taking the bait. If this new generation has only one kid per pair. And the next also. That will mean our world population could be cut in half in three generations. With technology still advancing, I don't see that trend reversing anytime soon.

Looks like humanity has been talked into killing itself. Slowly, and with almost instant gratification for whatever you can afford, but suicide none-the-less.

We don't get wings like Clarence in It's a Wonderful life. If you want to get technical, the dead aren't even in heaven. They wait around to be resurrected and sorted after the return of Christ and if you get Gryffindor you then go to heaven and if you get Slytherin you head downstairs for eternity so to speak. Angel status doesn't come up as a job title for former humans. Angels are way older than humankind (again according to the bible). And the jobs not open to humans. Angels serve god. We don't have the qualifications.

One of the first things often mentioned in that regard is that one’s loved one is no longer in pain and is now in Heaven with the angels and other family members. Nowhere in the Bible is that suggested to be true. cormac 3

Nowhere in the Bible is that suggested to be true. Well, that's two issues. My barber (and owner of a dog who is magnificent even for a dog) recently died, of a cancer that recurred after five years of remission. You may be sure that I remarked to survivors that she suffers no longer (although her dog mourns her, and that bothers me). I didn't say anything about angels or a family reunion (go figure). As you say, that's not "biblical" and our resident Bible scholar @ReadTheGreatControversyEGW, she of the lengthy name, would say that my barber now sleeps awaiting the judgment of Jesus because that's what Read thinks the Bible tells her. I am unsure where the "angel" idea comes from. LDS' Moroni is an angel who was once a man, so the basic idea has been around for a while. Maybe it is an intuitive response to the open question of what are you supposed to do all day if you do make it to heaven? Clarence found useful employment: good for him. What am I going to do? Troll the web for God? (Meh, I suspect heaven isn't my final destination anyway.) The family reunion thing may be "continuing revelation." Being greeted by departed friends and family members is a common theme in Very Injured Brain Episodes (VIBEs, sometimes called Near Death Experiences - hey, at least my acronym is pronounceable, unless you want to call 'em "andies"). Many people view these episodes as glimpses into the afterlife ... direct evidence, then, of a family reunion in the Elysian fields, finding its way into the culture at large. 1

trevor borocz johnson Posted November 25, 2023 Author #19 Share Posted November 25, 2023 I apologize but I'm yet to find anyone making sense on these forums. I don't make sense to any of you I think, well sometimes maybe? None of you are adding to the OP. Does anybody make sense to anybody else? I mean with a system that doesn't work after trial and error. shouldn't we be learning? Maybe things make sense to me that I say, and you are all likewise, but it seems to end in dispute whether religion has an afterlife? Its like a common ground of nonsense, who DF wants to live for another hundred let alone infinitely? rest from your labors is a prayer.
trevor borocz johnson Posted November 26, 2023 Author #20 Share Posted November 26, 2023 Maybe if you guys make magic happen in your text, like try to center the first paragraph of your 5 paragraph style center around how the monkey flies, a flying monkey, a flying monkey and then some words maybe some filler and then a great end. That's what I want to see in the religous section.

The idea of purgatory and working/waiting off your sins has to imply that if you are good enough, you do go to a Heaven. A waiting place of bliss. Jesus does say (according to Luke 23:43 ) that he turned to the other guy on the next cross and told him he'd meet him in Heaven that same day. Implies real time arrival in a heaven. Quote NIV Jesus answered him, 'Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.' Quote KJV And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise. Where paradise is generally agreed by most Christians as the heaven people wait in before Judgement and the New Heaven and New Earth.

Beliefs change over time - religious texts simply reflect the beliefs held when they were written. Who are we to say today's beliefs are wrong and only those of 2 or 3 thousand year ago are correct?
