When you look at the team photo, do you think she does have an unfair advantage, or does not?

A transgender footballer for a lower-league South Yorkshire team believes she is being discriminated against by teams boycotting matches if she is playing.

On Rossington Main Ladies FC Facebook page, Francesca Needham was quoted as expressing her hope the "issue of perceived discrimination against me can be resolved peacefully" with assistance from the Football Association.

Needham said she was being forced to quit playing for now.

The Football Association told Sky News: "We are working with Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA to find a resolution.

The other teams have no obligation to play a given match if they choose otherwise, correct?  It sounds like at worst the team that declines would forfeit that match.

I've read in other papers that the concern is over safety. Meeting someone twice your size and weight in a tackle increases the risk of injury, so it is not just about their superior ability.

That insipid line about hoping the matter can be resolved peacefully.

Veiled, bullying threats aimed at anyone who touches this matter is awful.

I notice this person didn't try to join the mens teams, just the ladies teams.

Transgendered people trying to force their way into ladies safe spaces goes against everything I stand for for my wife, daughters, female employees. Why can't they set up a transgender team? 48,000 transgender people in the UK, there must be enough to form a transgender league. But no, this person claims discrimination. Give me strength!!!

It's not just the physique or standards of play, it's the changing and washing facilities. It is long time to make these spaces safe and sacred for ladies and not just those who identify as female.

That's what I said. Set up a transgender league and be done with it.

I just assumed that as a given.  I've seen some examples far worse than this one.  Some of these "ladies" are twice the physical mass of those around them.  You'd think these guys would be ashamed to demand to be on the same field/pitch with women, especially when some or all of them did not want them there.

According to Reduxx reporter Anna Slatz, "Blaire Fleming, born Brayden, is currently playing women’s Division I volleyball for San Jose State University." Fleming competes on the university's indoor volleyball team in the fall, as well as its beach volleyball team in the spring.

Fleming wears #3 on the women's team.

All those records should be taken away from him.

According to Fleming's official bio on the San Jose State athletics website, the player stands 6'1" tall and is a redshirt junior. Fleming previously played at Coastal Carolina University, on the women's team, but left after one year.

That one year was the 2020-21 season. South Carolina lawmakers introduced a bill in 2021 to ban transgender women (biological males) from women's sports. The bill eventually passed in 2022.

But Fleming had left for the California-based university prior to the start of the 2021-22 season.

The SJSU bio also says that Fleming graduated from John Champe High School in Virginia in 2020, where Fleming competed on the girls' volleyball team. Fleming also played on the Virginia Juniors girls' club team.

It goes on to laud Fleming for helping the high school team win a school-record 19 matches and setting the school record with 30 kills in a match while also setting the school's single-season record with 266 kills.

She's hardly twice their size and weight, and even if she was, soccer is not a collision or tackle sport.

But it's nice she's conceding until a peaceful solution can be achieved.

I think she's been a good sport about it. Listening to complaints and seeking an amicable solution.

Oh, it is.

Is Soccer A Contact Sport?

Soccer is a contact sport that involves a combination of light to medium, and occasionally heavy impacts.

While tackling with excessive force, charging, and striking opponents are illegal in soccer, players often overstep the boundaries.

Although this generally results in appropriate sanctions being awarded, it doesn’t prevent significant contact from occurring.

It is not as dangerous as boxing or American Football, but two players colliding each doing 10 mph is like running into a brick wall at 20 mph. While it is against the rules to try to flatten your opponent, collisions are inevitable in tackles. New rules are being introduced to reduce head injuries in rugby, for eg, as it has been shown to lead to early dementia.

Oh please, in that case, all women, not just trans-women, who exceed a certain height and weight, should be removed from teams. That would be the fair thing to do wouldn't it?
