You’ve been exposed to so much that you’ve built up an immunity to it.

Probably. It all blurs together at some point.

You haven’t got the foggiest whom exactly is being discussed in the Bible. It’s the King of Babylon who is being castigated and rebuked for his overinflated ego. the King of Babylon was no angel.

That’s not surprising, nor is the fact she doesn’t know as much about the Bible as she thinks she does. Sad really.

You know, if you put so much effort into this spiritual life, as you do trying to disprove it, then you would be a saint by now.

In regards to "swear your oath" I've heard this before. Supposedly, you must believe in a supreme being or idk something beyond death. Out of curiosity, is this true? If someone doesn't believe in anything, they can't join?

Technically no, but if you soft pedal your atheism, you can get in. With membership plummeting, Freemasonry can't be too particular and is theologically diverse, anyways.

One of my grandfather's friends was a avowed atheist along with our town doctor and were members.

But both were members of our Quaker Meeting to avoid McCarthy's witch hunts. Then they stayed members for the humanitarian work so that probably counted in their favor.

You could take the UB in and swear on that. The Mason that sponsors you will coach you. They are forbidden to actively recruit, so anyone who asks to join is treated like treasure.

She keeps saying the devil was a cherubim too when he was considered a seraphim in Christian writings.

I think she's just pulling that from her butt though. Or that idiot EGW said it.

Same with traditional Quakers. We aren't allowed to recruit, are always on the point of dying out and treat new members as gold.

They should passively advertise on the back of cereal boxes and promise a magic decoder ring.

My brother and I were the first of our family to join as atheists. We were raised Greek Orthodox but had broken away by then. My uncle didn’t give a **** he just wanted us to join to keep the tradition going.

Satan was one of the Elohim and the one Yahweh turned to when he didn't want to get his hands dirty.

Pre or post-Council writings, ie. 3-4th century AD?

Have we gotten to the point where we have to define the actual meaning of the word satan yet? Did I miss that? Hard to keep track.

It’s already been defined. She’s equating Satan with the Devil, the latter of which was a late addition to Judaism and carried over to Christianity. But not really original to either.

Freemasons, I don't see as being inherently bad, or evil.

Like, the Mystery Schools of Pythagoras and Socrates, and hundreds of others, from the East to the West, and from the North to the South, they would have tried to keep all their secrets, on pain-of-death.

So its no surprise that some of those schools survived, and became different "Masonic" groups.

Although I would add that any of those Lodges, that are known today, are all infiltrated and corrupted, too.

Hi 8,

So people have brought up 'Total Onslaught' to me for years now. I've heard of it but never took the time to look at it. And when I recently took the time to do so, I saw this video and was like woah what's that!! I think he provided very good information. I don't know a lot about Freemasonry personally, but I know something's up. I live right by a lodge and am always weirded out walking by it - has a baphomet head depiction right on the front of the building Lol! I had met an Adventist once who was a Freemason and he told me it's safe etc. I wasn't buying it. Wished I had this video back then. I've also heard from other ex masons that it's not what it appears to be on the outside (to the lower level masons).

Expand

I doubt they have a Baphomet head.

Like I mentioned earlier, all this blurs together. Someone comes to the forum. Makes the same type of post as the last person. We spend a lot of time repeating the same things over and over. I mean all it takes is just a bit of effort to understand this stuff.

At this point Christianity as a spiritual path is fine by me. Christianity as a religion is just a means of draining whatever enjoyment of life a person has. Leaving them a self-hating husk who is desperate to fill the void within.
