Federal officials investigating after pro-Iran group claims to have hacked water authority in Pennsylvania | CNN

CNN —

Federal officials are investigating after a pro-Iran hacking group claimed to have committed a cyberattack at a water authority in Pennsylvania, according to a state congressman and water authority officials.

The group claimed to have hacked Aliquippa’s systems last week, though water service and quality were not impacted, Pittsburgh-area water authority official Robert J. Bible told CNN.

The incident is one of several highlighting growing concerns over pro-Iran hackers and US infrastructure vulnerabilities. Officials fear cyberattacks on companies or service providers could have cascading impacts on critical infrastructure operators, including hospitals and utilities.

Wait until they stage a mass attack in multiple cities across the country along the same lines as what happened on 10/7.  Anyone who thinks that open border isn't a threat is going to learn aboout reality the hard way.

They probably hacked it from Iran......   You don't need to be in the US to hack anything.

This video shows the screen that came up after the attack. Everything is alright now. It was just switched to manual. Only a little water authority but practice none the less. A little one like that doesn't have the really expensive security systems a place like New York or Los Angeles will have in place. All I've seen said is that the group is pro Iranian anti Israeli. There's nothing about their location at all.

Do you really think that they’d have spent any more money on cyber-security in New York than the barest minimum?
The attack here was a successful dry run. They will try and hit something bigger, and will probably succeed because security always lags behind offence, due to the all mighty budget demanding the least be spent.

Wow! Your a MI genius! Maybe you should apply to the Puzzle Palace as a intel analyzer considering you know the U.S. and British intelligence agencies are fast asleep.

Not....

Yes. I do think New York probably has more sophisticated security system than this little town in western PA. I also doubt they could just switch everything to manual like they did.

They said how small their system was and acknowledged that it was a dry run. Practice.

How does this type of attack, even if a test run, advance the cause of being pro-Iranian.  I don’t understand the link.

The components that were hacked were made in Israel.  That's pretty much it.
