Black Red Devil Posted December 22, 2023 #1 Share Posted December 22, 2023 Some interesting "CT allegations" from Arab sources link the war and current unliveable devastation in Gaza to a 1960 planned project to create a canal from the Red Sea to the Mediterannean Sea (or better thru the Gulf of Aqaba) via Israel as an alternative to the Suez Canal. The project is/would be called the Ben Gurion Canal Project after the first Israeli Prime Minister. What has this got to do with Gaza and the war? Accordingly, the canal would end up in the Mediterranean Sea thru Gaza which would reduce building costs and reduce navigation times, or close thru Ashkelon in Israel but with higher security risks with a neighbouring Palestinian Govt which might also explain why Israel is now adamant there is no further possibility for a two state solution. The US Govt has also shown interest in the project and has, ever since the 1960's, due to Suez Canal blockades at times by the Egyptians affecting commercial business and costs. Obviously for security reasons either option (thru Gaza or Ashkelon) isn't possible with Hamas as their neighbour. The idea was fomented back in the 1960's because Israeli vessels were given restricted access thru the Suez Canal at the time due to Arab rejection for the creation of the State of Israel. Did Netanyahu ignore on purpose signs from the Egyptian Secret Service that something big was brewing in Gaza before the 7th Oct so Israel could push along and speed up the project due to the fact his political career is coming to an end? The short answer to your question is: NO The United States discussed the Ben Gurion Canal in the1960s but the idea was very quickly rejected. This conspiracy theory is nothing more than an actualisation of classic antisemitic motifs where the stereotype of ‘Jewish greed’ and the belief in an international Jewish conspiracy are projected onto Israel and paired with anti-Western resentments.
+and-then Posted December 22, 2023 #3 Share Posted December 22, 2023 It's obscene the way people always try to find some "proof" that Israel would slaughter their own for wealth. DISGUSTING antisemitic trope... The effect is aimed to cause the world to come against Israel and the fools who push it should know that one day it will be "successful". The world WILL COME and surround Israel. I hope those who push such tropes will live to see the answer they will be given on that day. Arguably, the best secret service intelligence in the world were caught off guard by a group of terrorists from the most controlled land on earth and.......it took the Israeli cavarly 8 hours to get to the festival and 20 hours to get to the Kfar Aza Kibbutz! link On google earth I calculated the route from the northern tip of Israel to the Aqaba Port in the deep south and it takes approx. only 6 hours driving. There are at least 10 Israeli military bases surounding Gaza. Nobody was able to alert the central command when they first came under attack?! The saga of errors just seem somewhat surreal for a country surrounded by enemies and on the front foot for 365 days a year. A site dedicated to providing examples of antisemitism from around the world and the best the author of the article came up with is basically "although we can't disprove the allegations with arguments and facts that Israel is going to build the canal thru Gaza, the rumours going around are because of deep sentiments of antisemitism". Personally, I still call it a 'conspiracy theory' because even I find it hard to believe that a criminal like Netanyahu could setup a plan involving the likely murder of hundreds of Israeli citizens (which eventually turned out to be 1200) but then there's this saying that goes, follow the money trail to find the truth and that brings some doubts to my mind.
