Trying to find the movie or book from where this originates.. can't find 'inkbooks.com' it must be a different spelling.. help! Lol thanx

"The United Nations States of America, UNSA, is a nation which formed after the apocalypse and replaced the United States of America. It was formed after the United States of America was scattered and cut off due to the apocalypse."

"From inkbooks.com. A 20 Megatron nuclear warhead was detonated high in the atmosphere above Kansas, blanketing most of the contiguous United States and parts of Canada and Mexico with an electromagnetic pulse that damaged nearly all microprocessors and electronic controls beyond repair.

Sounds like the plot for one of those “left behind…” style Christopocalypse novels.
You know the sort “evil atheists oppressing honest Christian’s… the only option is VIOLENCE!” that American Xtians seem to enjoy.

In that case the OP is going to love it.

Am I the only one irrationally annoyed by the phrase “United Nations States …”? There’s too many plurals. Not directed at you Read, but the author.

It could well be United Nation States of America. The only source before us for the name is a transcription of speech, the pharse would be appropriate if applied to a union of the former USA, Canada, and Mexico, each of which could be described as a nation state. The phrase also answers well to the acronym UNSA.

It would be easy enough for any of many folks at Amazon to insert a joke factoid into Alexa's treasury of canned responses, and I believe that outsiders can make "contributions," too. Bottom line: this could be a difficult search or even a wild goose chase.

Close but no cigar: The Halo universe has a United Republic of North America, a similar concept with a similar name.

First of all a single 20 megaton nuclear weapon would not take out the entire grid across the United States. So obviously whoever wrote the STORY you are referring too, also isn't aware, you would think they would get their story right, it doesn't take much to present accurate information!!!

Maybe not, but if detonated at the right altitude it would cause more damage than we could repair and it would lead to millions of deaths due to the loss of our electric grid.  Remember that the grid is interconnected, with only a few limited exceptions and the whole grid could collapse in a rolling sort of add-on effect.

Some government think tank put out a report a few years back that claimed we could suffer a 90% fatality rate within a single year.

It would not matter anyway, because it would be a full on nuclear war and no one would win. Because, that missile could explode we would have launched, it makes me sick to think about it.

Hopefully it never happens.

How does the United States of America get scattered?

The part about the 20 megaton bomb is from a book called "Once Upon an Apocalypse" by Jeff Motes. I'm having trouble finding where the United Nations States of America part comes from.

 'inkbooks.com'

Are you sure you don't mean hack books?

Pretty sure it was abebooks.com. Book site to buy and sell books.
