Channel migrants given right to work in UK

Channel migrants have been quietly given the right to work in sectors including care, construction and agriculture and can still retain access to state-subsidised bed and board under a Home Office scheme.

The migrants forgo their £49.13 a week state subsistence allowance if they earn more than that but can negotiate with the Home Office to remain in asylum accommodation as long as they pay a contribution towards the cost.

On Friday night, Nigel Farage, the former Ukip leader, and Tory MPs criticized the scheme, warning that it could act as a “pull factor” to encourage migrants to come to the UK illegally.

Mr Farage told The Telegraph: “This is a disaster. Once the traffickers can advertise jobs and free board, even more will want to come. Rwanda is completely irrelevant in comparison to this.”

I hate agreeing with that Russian shill Farage, but he's correct on this occasion.

Silly rich kid with no brains Farage would rather we all starved than allow anyone who hasn't live in Britain for at least 1,000 generations do a single days work (which is, of course, why he hasn't er, ever done a days work in his life - even to the extent at campaigning to get himself sacked when he was appointed to the EU gravy train) 🤣

They should all be offered jobs when they land on our shores. We need the workers, and it would show whether they genuinely wanted to settle in Britian, or just wanted to take advantage of the hotels and benefits they get.

It would save so much money as well- at present they have to wait up to 2 years to be processed and allowed to work.

Exactly.  If they agree to work and do so, whilst causing no trouble, for 2 years then they get a fast track for official immigration status.

The traffickers are another issue.  But they are best dealt with by making them unnecessary - so why not set up our own free transport for those who want to work and fill the myriad of vacancies that currently blight so many aspects of UK society?
