Strange how all these indictments suddenly came up on Trump when he announced he was running for president in 2024.

Yes, I can see your point. The deep state has been very busy lately rigging the Superbowl and Trump’s corruption

He owes E Jean Carroll $83.3 million and now this. A motion for appeal in the Carroll case was just denied. Does Trump even have all this money without liquidating? He has no other choice but to appeal.

Judge Arthur Engoron also entered an order barring former President Donald Trump from applying for loans from any financial institution registered with the New York Department of Financial Services for three years.

The former president is also barred from serving as an officer or director of any New York corporation or other legal entity in the state for three years.

That’s $450m in rulings and counting. Trump might not have that amount in liquid assets and could possibly start liquidating assets.

He's going to have to. A repeat of the 1980's when he went bankrupt. His own behavior is what does this to him.

Amazing isn't it...  All the DAs in blue cities all of a sudden want to go after Trump and stretch every meaning of the law to pin a crime on him.

The verdicts combined will cost him some $438m, and that’s only part of what Trump could owe across numerous lawsuits. The payments will likely create a sizable dent in his wallet. Bloomberg’s billionaires’ list estimated that Trump’s net worth in 2021 was about $2.3bn, meaning these two rulings alone could take out almost a fifth of Trump’s net worth.

Well Forbes did a report on Trump's holdings and Mar-Largo which Trump bought for 10 million is now worth 325 million.

According to the Forbes report, the Golf Courses and Resorts division of Trump's holdings accounts for $730 million of his $2.5 billion in wealth. Among the resorts are the Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Florida, where he moved post-presidency, and the Trump National Doral Golf Club.

Trump bought Mar-a-Lago in 1985 for about $10 million. Today, it's worth $325 million, Forbes reported, and Trump owns it free and clear. It's the only place that everyday Americans (who can afford it) can dine or stay on the same premises as a former president.

The New York skyline is peppered by the Trump name on a variety of buildings, and his holdings in the city account for $720 million of his portfolio, according to the Forbes study. He doesn't own the buildings in their entirety. Depending on the property, he might own some residential units, a share of the office or retail space, the leasehold on the land, a parking garage or even storage units.

The properties in this category include the Trump World Tower, where he owns the commercial and garage sectors and a portion of the residential units, as well as Trump Tower, Trump Palace, the Trump International Hotel & Tower and the 1290 Avenue of the Americas building.

While the latter is valued at $2 billion, per the Forbes research, when you subtract the building debt and calculate Trump's 30% share, his stake is worth $330 million.

I really don't see how Trump overstated his properties worth.

No its not very amazing.  Investigations that were pending and new ones based on behavior all resumed of began when he left office.  Immunity for sitting presidents you may have heard about that. lately.  No immunity for crimes not related to the presidential role and duties after leaving office.

Ya think capitalism and Trump competitors don't care about somebody cheating the system they play by?    I bet there are a lot of NY real estate developers and other businesses totally behind this judgement. We are not in Russia yet comrade.  Trump is not Putin yet.

I really don't see how Trump overstated his properties worth.

When a 10k sq. ft. apartment becomes a 30k sq ft apt for example. But like I said above, Trump is innocent, it was his attorneys and accounts that he let run Trump enterprises without any oversight. Don Jr. and Eric claim they know nothing of GAP.  OK I believe them.  Just some spoiled and entitled rich kids who are dumb as posts and given a billion dollar company to destroy through neglect.

It  is his kids fault.  He had good, brilliant, genes on his side of the family.  Ivana had *spam filter* but might have been a little short on brains.  Worked out OK for Ivanka, not do much for Eric and Don Jr.

Strange that he has had many lawsuits over the years even some that were put on hold when he ran fro president the first time, once he was no longer president, they came crashing back.   You can try to make something out of it that it isn't or you can accept that he has always been a crook and not as smart as most politicians.   His dementia has caused him to admit to things he should have known to keep quiet about that had nothing to do with campaigning for president.

I guess the judge doesn't think he will be around 3 years from now.  It seems kind of a random order, for three years, why not 10?

Well, or keep trying to bilk money from people who want to support his campaign.  Where is all that money going?

This particular case started in 2019 didn't it?

I don't know, but I did see a list of lawsuits pending in 2016 when he was elected, that had to wait until 2020 to resume.   One of them had to do with Trump University.   I never cared about him so it is a waste of my time to look them up.   Anything he does belongs with the headline "Florida Man...".   It seems those headlines always indicate someone doing something stupid.

Don’t know. But if he does something as silly as use campaign funds to pay off court fees and fines then his goose will be well and truly cooked. Maybe his followers can donate to the ‘save Trump’ appeal?
