+OverSword Posted March 29, 2024 #1 Share Posted March 29, 2024 Maybe I can cut back at the gym Quote In the last few years, there has been a lot of mention of the Dad Bod being attractive. For example, a 2017 survey by Planet Fitness reported that: 78 percent of women feel men with dad bods are confident in their own skin Nearly half of women (47 percent) even believe dad bods are the new six-pack, and nearly three in five (58 percent) of mothers feel dad bods are the new six-pack 83 percent of mothers would be proud to have a husband with a dad bod. Also, a Dating.com survey (2021) reported that almost 75 percent of singles like the Dad Bod—preferring a build that isn't very chiseled. But, is the Dad Bod really physically attractive, or is it simply that men who possess a Dad Bod are assumed to have other characteristics that appeal to women interested in something other than short-term relationships? Popular Post +ouija ouija Posted March 29, 2024 Popular Post #2 Share Posted March 29, 2024 Why Do Women Like Men With Dad Bods? Do they? I'm guessing that all the men involved with putting those statistics together have dad bods! 3 4

CrimsonKing Posted March 29, 2024 #4 Share Posted March 29, 2024 This is basically the female of our species saying they don't want others physically attracted to their mate...and for us to keep things in proper order as far as life spans go 😉 😆 1

L.A.T.1961 Posted March 29, 2024 #7 Share Posted March 29, 2024 I noticed there was a good chance a woman would be drawn to someone with a strong resemblance to their dad years ago. As many dads end up with the dad bod then this could be a big influence on women's preferred body shape. And if you happen to be 5ft8in don't bother chasing someone with a 6ft2in dad. 😉 Just for clarity I am 5ft10in. 😁 6

+joc Posted March 30, 2024 #12 Share Posted March 30, 2024 I think it is because most women plan to become Moms...and then they will have Mom Bods. So, if they are already with someone who has a Dad bod, then they won't feel as threatened when they achieve Mom Bod Status when their G.I. Joe Bod husband goes off to the gym. 5

Tatetopa Posted March 30, 2024 #14 Share Posted March 30, 2024 Doesn't seem that mysterious to me if you flip perspectives. You are a man with better than average fitness. You spend time at the gym, you work for it and look good and know it. You want to socialize and have fun, you are not bound by domestic responsibilities, being young and single. You go out to admire and be admired,. You need to have the hottest date you can get to feed your ego. While you sit together at dinner you flex and pose and look around to see if you are being admired and maybe even have the chance of an upgrade. Your date need be no more than eye candy. Then you find the absolute hottest chick ever. She is as big a gym rat as you are and when she is not at the gym, she is at the spa or makeup mirror and boy is she hot. You feel yourself falling for her and begin to open up about some intimate details of your life and notice that look in her eyes you recognize so well. She is looking around the room for admiration and a possible upgrade. You are the placeholder. Lifestyles of the young and single. Maybe some day you decide to settle down and have a family. When you are trying to maintain a job and a household and raise a couple of kids, there is always plenty of work to go around. You even skip workouts to put in a new lawn and paint the living room. You get home from a long day at work, pick up the kids from daycare and get home to find a note. "At the gym, get Grub Hub for the kids, Sarah likes chicken nuggets and Charlie likes spaghetti. Its abs night, gotta keep the girls pert. Don't worry about me I'll grab a bite with friends after workout." Later that night as Charlie pukes up his spaghetti all over the bed and floor and you are trying to change sheets and clean up a crying kid, you might in passing wish the "girls" were a little less pert, and were there attached to a mom bod who was helping console the kid and clean up the mess. You might even long for some one you could talk to and share a joke with as well as a chore. You might even fantasize about someone who was there when you needed them and not looking around every room for an upgrade. 5
lightly Posted March 31, 2024 #15 Share Posted March 31, 2024 I read the link…. It also states that women prefer men with lower testosterone levels…for the long term. …how can they tell? Sense of smell? He says hello ,before he grabs her? Make him get a testosterone test? What the heck is a Dad Bod? 😶 My dad was skinny. 2 2

Popular Post XenoFish Posted March 31, 2024 Popular Post #24 Share Posted March 31, 2024 I'm 45 and I've had my dad bod phase. Looking to the late Jack Lalanne for inspiration. I just don't like the idea of becoming a fat old man. Seen too many give up when they were at my age. 8

I've seen quite a few married attractive women alone at the gym while Dad bod is at home with the kids... They have never seemed too leary of any toxicity or athletic males either.
