Grim Reaper 6 Posted March 29 Author #4 Share Posted March 29 (edited) Trump stays silent on detained U.S. reporter as he avoids criticizing Putin (March 29, 2024) Former president Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee, has made no public statements on Russia’s detention of Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich, who has been held for one year without formal charges or a trial. Asked directly to clarify Trump’s position on Friday, his campaign did not respond to requests for comment. Trump has consistently gone out of his way to avoid criticizing Russian president Vladimir Putin, and Trump himself routinely demonizes reporters with terms such as “the enemy” and “criminals. qxcontinuum Posted March 30 #5 Share Posted March 30 (edited) I always though Trump is looking at its political relations through the prism eye of a business man first rather than president and this can certainly bring benefits to a nation run by a business man. No offense to Binden but I found rather odd that the second day he was elected, he has said something like ; Putin is a criminal and he must pay... Brother, that kind of speech of an elected official against another official wont bring peace and harmony! That its a challenge that strong people like Putin seek and enjoys to be provoked. A good leader is someone who is not looking at differences between nations but at common points to solidify. I think Trump is a good leader who sees the truth as bold and paintfully real as it is. America is chocking in liberal incompetence weaken by factions and groups with interes. Trumps main problem is of an emotional nature. He just can't master the art of speech , he lacks oral tact and diplomacy and let's his heart speak rather than rationale. Just my two cents Edited March 30 by qxcontinuum

Just my two cents A Good Leader, either Leads, Follows or gets the Hell out of the way. Trump is the type of leader that gets out of the way and he abandons or sacrifices anyone to save himself. If you come forward from 2016 to date you can easily see all the people sacrificed including MAGA. Now, he talks about giving MAGA members either in jail or who are having legal problems a pardon, that's a joke because he could have done so before he left office in 2021. But to each his own I wish you the best!!

Should a leader not represent the viewpoint of his nation and its citizens? Should a leader not guide policy for the best outcomes for the group they represent? Solidifying bonds with other nations or assuring global peace and harmony is not job #1 of any single leader. Someone who has been bullied will recognize this is the sort of PTSD we get when we want to go along and not make the bully mad.

Brother, that kind of speech of an elected official against another official wont bring peace and harmony! This reminds me of WWF. One has to make all kind of comments and statements to trigger emotions and drama, so as to capture people's attention on account of the usual attention deficit in modern times of excessive stimuli. As a senator Biden had this to say of Putin... “No Russian leader since Peter the Great has cast his lot as much with the West as Putin has”. https://responsiblestatecraft.org/2023/03/23/for-putin-iraq-war-marked-a-turning-point-in-us-russia-relations/ So political statements are variable, and an angel becomes a demon and vice versa, if it helps one look good in the opinion polls. However a real leader must direct his nation and people as per his vision and roadmap for peace and prosperity, and not as per the opinion polls casting an eye on the next elections.
