Robbie Williams believes that his fame may have made him a target for aliens

Recommended Posts

I would imagine the likes of Williams can have/ do pretty much anything he desires- probably he's bored, hence his belief-- or a bit mad- or both

There's two camps on these threads. The people who go, yeah something occurred, what was it, doesn't appear man made. The other are vitriolic and shout, no evidence, nothing for science to examine, it must be:

Clouds

Headlight glare

Mass hysteria

Military pilots were mistaken

Drunkenness

But then anything planet-wise...

Jupiter.

Lol

OK so what was it?

Your not one to comment about anyone's "manner" with all your petulant whining across all of these threads. Not a good look for you pal.😎

OMS, with a view to you actually contributing to the forum - rather than whining like a broken record with one line claims - please cite the best examples where you think skeptics were unreasonable.  I'm particularly interested in the 'clouds' and 'headlight glare' ones, but also cite the jupiter one..

Either cite them, or withdraw and apologise.  And make sure you list the 'best' one first.

It's a universal rule about UFO encounters - on no account may any UFO ever appear to anyone who has good photographic equipment and the ability to use it.  If such an event ever occurred it'd cause a massive rip in the space time fabric and entire galaxies would immediate self combust.

So you have nothing as well. Got it.

It is just another story of someone saying they saw something. Not sure it takes a skeptic to point out the problems with that but I guess we are supposed to be in awe of this story and claim it is true.

That is it folks, this proves that aliens are visiting this dude while he sings. Might as well shut down the UFO section of Unexplained Mysteries.

So, you have been asked to support your claim, but don't have anything.  That's OK, we'll take that as you, OpenMindedSceptic, are now withdrawing the claims and you, OpenMindedSceptic, apologise to the forum for trying to mislead participants.

There you go.

BTW, calling others 'eejit's, despite the hilariously funny misspelling, is an ad hominem and doesn't reflect well on your attitude.

Those camps the problem is on one side as you said all they offer are stories and on the other side no matter how much dear true believers hate hearing prosaic things like you listed and others those mundane things have time and time again been proven the correct explanation placing the witnesses on the spot to pound sand saying adamantly no, it wasn't or yes, I guess it was or maybe.

The other rub is the one camp like to go from unknown, since I don't know, To, So it must be, jumping to the very most unlikely unproven possibility and being totally and completely closed to any other far more likely possibility.

Enter...

@openmindedsceptic

There's a third camp which I am firmly in. I have an open mind about these experiences as I have had some too. But before I say 'wow, that must be real, it's true after all' I prefer to have some hard evidence or as near as dammit to proof of a cover up. I agree that not all experiences can be debunked due to mis-identification or drugs or mental health etc. Some can and it's good to go through that process of elimination to get to the truth, whatever it may be.

And....

Then there’s Skeptic’s camp. The one where he doesn’t know anything about the topic he discusses, is unable to converse in a normal adult manner, and so ignores, runs and hides instead; uncritically accepts what crackpots and frauds say, and deliberately misrepresents what others say indulging in dismissive strawman arguments because he’s incapable of thinking critically, not even to defend his own position; and mistakenly thinks everyone who doesn’t believe  in UFOs also doesn’t believe in the possibility of real extraterrestrial life.

The camp best left on Ignore now.

So far more than pigeon hole it down to two camps,

Skeptics will always be the horrible bad guys when it comes to true believers and why shouldn't they be, a skeptic isn't credulous they don't believe on faith they ask for evidence ah, that nasty foul word to believers,

I don't label myself but I guess I would be camped in with skeptics as I do not blindly believe but I sure am not ignorant to the subject matter just because some believer thinks they are special because they claim some experience they can't prove doesn't make them an expert.

In my research most cases are debunked as down to earth prosaic explanations which can include not limited to unknown to witness. Hoax. Prank, misidentifying, drugs. Drink. Mental illness, natural causes , and then a few cases I have seen are still unknown explanation which relax isn't a jump to anything,

Lastly I have the stone cold fact nothing paranormal has ever been proven never backed up by evidence only belief of the experiencer, I am comfortable with it I wish believers could share that comfort.

Lastly , delight me, prove something paranormal.

I couldn't have said it better myself. I'd love to have 'proof' of some of these incidents. I'd even like to find out if some of the experiences I have had were 'paranormal' or could be explained by natural occurrences because I'm not able to say for sure.
