+susieice Posted April 6 #52 Share Posted April 6 I remember hearing about this one too from 2020. I didn't feel anything. We get these once in a while. This was only a 2.1. Haven't heard anything about aftershocks today. +susieice Posted April 7 #54 Share Posted April 7 (edited) They say now there's been over 31 aftershocks but they haven't been felt outside of the immediate area of the epicenter. Nearly 30 aftershocks recorded around NJ quake epicenter since Friday (msn.com) Over the next week, there is a 74% chance of additional 3-plus magnitude aftershocks, but the USGS does not foresee more than five occurring. There is just a 14% chance of a quake clocking in at a magnitude of 4 or higher, and likely only one will come this week. Over the course of the next month, however, the chance of a 3-plus magnitude quake rises to 84%, while a the chance of a 4 or greater is 18%. It’s almost certain — 98% — that more 3-plus magnitude shakers will come in the next year, the USGS said. Edited April 7 by susieice

+susieice Posted April 12 #56 Share Posted April 12 I thought they already identified the fault line that was responsible. Now they say they haven't. The USGS is moving in more equipment temporarily. There's been over 50 aftershocks since the quake on April 5. With New Jersey earthquake's fault still not found, researchers deploy new aftershock sensors (msn.com)
