Well, Iran can tell it's people that the attack was successful and they consider the retaliation over. Then when Israel attacks they can use that again. People were dancing in the streets in Tehran but I'm sure some Iranians know the truth.

I agree I believe that a large percentage of the Iranian population does not know the truth. The more I think about this attack the more I believe it was designed to show their own people that Iran can fight. I mean the attack was joke, and it actually seems like it was designed to fail intentionally. So, I tend to believe that this show force was only designed to show the Iranians that their government was standing up for itself.

What's the point of having so many drones and missiles if you can't get them past your enemy's defence systems?

That type of conventional warfare doesn't work anymore unless your enemy is significantly weaker.

If Iran were to wage war on Israel, they'd probably use asymmetrical warfare, involving their proxies in the region to strike from many directions.

They also wouldn't openly broadcast their intentions through NATO channels, thus eliminating any element of surprise.

No, sadly you're on the money.  Trump has worked for the FSB since they got him out of bankruptcy in the 1990s.

The best retaliation would be to highjack Iranian TV and show the drones and rockets being shot down, with a cut in frame of Israeli citizens laughing at them.

Humiliation can be more powerful than physical damage.

Israel is going to have to attack Iran directly now.  The damage will probably be relatively minor, probably just hitting launch facilities maybe an IRGC base.  Even though Iran failed to do any real or significant damage they still showed they can and will hit Israel and now Israel will have to show they can and will do the same.

Id be surprised if Israel directly attacked Iran. Theyll simply wait for another opportunity to air strike another high value target, and just do it.

Iran's attack was a utter failure. Zero results for 300 launches. Even Ukraine has hit Moscow numerous times with drones launched in ones and twos. Iran is laughable at this point.

Tehran is now saying that Western countries should " appreciate Iran’s restraint” against Israel after its attack on the Jewish state, and that they should also appreciate “appreciate Iran’s restraint in recent months.” Yeah sure, okay lol

https://www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog_entry/tehran-says-western-countries-should-appreciate-irans-restraint-toward-israel/

Iran has also warned Israel that a "reckless" retaliation will receive a "much stronger response",

Dancing in the streets over a wasteful air display...

Kind of a dangerous/stupid version of the 4th of July for them I suppose.

Report: Gulf states, including Saudi Arabia, provided intelligence on Iran attack

Several Gulf States, among them Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, passed on intelligence about Iran’s plans to attack Israel, providing vital information that was key to the success of the air defense measures that almost entirely thwarted the massive assault, the Wall Street Journal reported Monday citing Saudi, US, and Egyptian officials.

Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian had said that Iran gave neighbouring countries and the US 72 hours' notice it would launch the strikes. Both the UK and US have rejected that claim.

TV Report: War cabinet decides to hit Iran back hard, hopes it won’t spark regional war

In an unsourced report, Channel 12 claims the war cabinet has made the decision to hit back “clearly and forcefully” against Iran for its missile and drone attack on Saturday night. The response will be designed to send the message that Israel “will not allow an attack of that magnitude against it to pass without a reaction,” the report says. The response will also be designed to make plain that Israel will not allow the Iranians to “establish the equation” they have sought to assert in recent days.

NOTE: The report is unsourced. There's been no official announcement at this time.

UAE did not participate in thwarting Iranian attack, according to senior Israeli official

The United Arab Emirates did not participate in the interception of Iranian missiles and drones that were simultaneously launched at Israel over the weekend, a senior Israeli official tells The Times of Israel. The official says reports of broad Arab participation in thwarting the Iranian strike alongside Israel, US, the UK, France, and Jordan are exaggerated and inaccurate.

I don't know much about this senator, but omg the way in which he described Iran and its proxies lol. He is so spot on.

Kennedy on support of Israel: ‘If we turn the other cheek to them, we’re going to get it in the neck’

Republican Sen. John Kennedy (La.) on Sunday pushed for the U.S. to give its full support to Israel against Iran, arguing Tehran’s weekend missile attack underscores the threat the country poses to the Middle East.

“We need to stand with Israel. It’s very clear. We’re not at war with Hamas, or Hezbollah or Yemen. Those are all surrogates for Iran. Those are…they’re prostitutes, the pimp is Iran. Israel is at war with Iran. Iran hates Americans. Iran hates Jews, Iran wants to kill Americans and Jews. And if we turn the other cheek to them, we’re going to get it in the neck,” Kennedy said during an interview on “Fox News Sunday.”

So regime change?  I guess our military industries could use another 20 years of profit now that Afghanistan is over.

As much as the US would like to see a regime change, I'm not convinced that the Biden administration would start (or encourage) a war over it. Their policy has been one of appeasement in the hopes that Iran will not cross any lines. I don't know what they will do now that it has.

Iran is part of the BRICS now. It's backed by Russia and China.

Protests spread as anti-Israel agitators shut down traffic, disrupt cities across US😟

Other protests have also been reported across the nation, from the front of Philadelphia's city hall, to downtown Miami, and Chicago's O'Hare International airport.

Sky News Australia reported on Sunday that a global pro-Palestine rally has been planned for Monday, but in an effort to cause maximum disruption, the activists have refused to disclose protest locations.

Because Iran and Hamas are on the same side. Iran funds Hamas' brutality against Israel.
