100 MPs to stand down at the next general election

The number of MPs who have said they will leave Parliament at the next general election has reached 100.

Conservative Tim Loughton, who has represented East Worthing and Shoreham since 1997, became the 100th MP to announce he was leaving the Commons.

Most - 63 in all - are Tories, and they include former prime minister Theresa May.

That said, 56% of the 650 MPs (365) who won their seats in Boris Johnson's landslide general election victory in 2019 were Conservatives.

A total of 17 Labour MPs are also standing down, along with nine from the SNP, two from Sinn Fein, one from Plaid Cymru and one Green - the party's only MP, Caroline Lucas.

They may not last even until the next GE, this is the most scandal hit group of Tory MPs we have ever had.

The Times newspaper report into Mark Menzies is the latest sleaze row to rock the Tories since the prime minister entered Downing Street with a promise to bring "integrity and accountability" to government.

Having sought to draw a line under the scandal-hit era of Boris Johnson, problems have continued to mount for Mr Sunak.

Sky News looks at the MPs who have been suspended during his time in office so far.

Wow! They suspect she may have fiddled £18k. How does than compare with Lady Mone fraudulently making off with £30 million, Dodo Harding fraudulently making off with £37 billion, Nadim Zahawi not declaring £5 million tax while Chancellor, Rees Mogg sanctioned for avoiding £400 million tax, and Boris Johnson charging the taxpayers £500k to defend Partygate?

Well, perhaps we could refer all these to the anti-corruption Champion, John Penrose, MP. Or perhaps we couldn't, as he is the husband of Dido Harding, who has embezzled the most of the taxpayers Covid freebies given out by Rishi Sunak.

Dreadful lot. Sooner they are gone the better. And I don't mean the immigrant, I mean the Tory MPs.

Lets face it,all politicians labour or tory are corrupt, liars , out to make as much money and power as they can for themselves and their cronies,

When labour get in we'll see the same thing, except its the rich lefties getting richer,

Meanwhile the working class get shafted off both sides as usual.

100 MPs to stand down.. Interesting words.

One has to 'stand up' before one can stand down!

Is there a modern day politician that's actually, really, with balls 'stood up' for this great country of mine? IN_MY_OPINION= FEKIN NO!!!!!

They're all just a bunch of privileged idiots! BUT having said that it's the same around the world!

A modern day version of the French Revolution world wide will sort this planet out! :tsu:

Ah, you want to look at shades of illegality, honesty, integrity?

Tory, Liebour, same thing.
