This doesn't look good. It seems this is a plot to have Trump Epsteined in jail. I  wonder if anyone has thought about what happens the day after Trump is murdered in prison. They create a martyr.

Democrats want Trump dead.

House Democrats on Friday moved to strip President Trump of his Secret Service protection if he is convicted.

Democrat Rep. Bennie Thompson introduced a resolution that would terminate Trump’s Secret Service protection. The legislation dubbed the “Denying Infinite Security and Government Resources Allocated toward Convicted and Extremely Dishonorable (DISGRACED) Former Protectees Act would apply to all Secret Service protectees convicted and sentenced under felony charges.

“The DISGRACED Former Protectees Act would terminate Secret Service protection for individuals who otherwise qualify for it upon sentencing following conviction for a Federal or State felony,” the announcement said.

“It is regrettable that it has come to this, but this previously unthought-of scenario could become our reality. Therefore, it is necessary for us to be prepared and update the law so the American people can be assured that protective status does not translate into special treatment —and that those who are sentenced to prison will indeed serve the time required of them,” Democrat Rep. Bennie Thompson said according to the Washington Times.

Good, I hope it passes. He shouldn't be treated any different than any other criminal. If anything his punishment should be harsher because of the magnitude of his crimes. Stick him in solitary like his buddy Epstein was.

Hunter should get the same treatment too. I read a judge has refused to drop the felony gun charges. This resolution would also strip Hunter of Secret Service Protection.

It's one guy and it isn't expected to pass the House. Where did anyone get Epstein out of this? Is the prison system waiting for him? I doubt he'll ever go there.

A top House Democrat wants to remove Trump's Secret Service protection if he's sent to prison (msn.com)

I'd be really surprised if Trump was given a prison sentence over this latest court case accusing him of falsifying business records to pay hush money to a porn star. Hahaha!!!

The whole premise behind it all is hilarious!!!

This is the same Government that tried to spread Liberal Democracy across the Middle East... Hahaha

This is National Enquirer stuff!!!

Only in America!!!

A Place for Americans!!!

If he's guilty, we want him to pay for his crimes.  Just like everyone else.  However, unlike everyone else (including his ex lawyers and others), he'll get special quarters.  With a tv.  No Internet, I suspect.

What we REALLY want (to be honest) is for him to live and to see the complete downfall of his empire.  Believe me, that kind of humiliation is much more satisfying than him dying.  He's caused the ruin of a lot of businesses and stole from his own charities.  Dying lets him get off easy.

He needs to live and watch (and be denied an Internet connection) and be forgotten.

What else do you expect "them" to do?  Put Biden on a debate stage with him?  Rely on the current administration's performance and Biden's daily falls, dysphagia, or misbehavior to convince voters that four more years is preferable to mean tweets?

Actually, they're being urged to debate: https://www.reuters.com/world/us/us-news-organizations-urge-biden-trump-commit-debates-2024-04-15/

Given Trump's word salad and inability to stick to a coherent thought, it should be interesting.

I rather doubt it.  Rather than respond to questions or what is happening onstage, Trump will just make canned speches about fairness and how big his crowds were and how popular he is.  No to mention he has never done anything wrong. He will use air time to repeat and reinforce instructions to his followers.

While this is undoubtedly motivated by Trump's actions, I think reading into that an implication that the Democrats want to Epstein him is taking it a bit too far. Just my opinion, of course.

The funny part of this is that the most likely result would be that a huge group of the inmates would act as protection for him. :w00t: The guy really does seem to have a blessed existence.  NO ONE ELSE could have survived what he did just to win the first term.

If you think former President Trump would actually end up in a general prison population, I think you are too deep down the rabbit hole.  Realistically, the most he might face is a couple of months of house arrest at   Mar-a-Lago.

Even if he is found guilty, no responsible person concerned about the future of the US wants to see him do hard time.  They want to see him being held accountable just like every other citizen, that is enough, but prison is too much.
