Diamond makes a good point. We are waiting for them to find us because we do not have the technology to find them.

"We don't have any evidence of any credible source that would indicate the presence of alien technology in our skies. And we never have," said Bill Diamond, president and chief executive officer of the SETI Institute, headquartered in Mountain View, California. "The idea that the government is keeping something like this secret is just totally absurd. There's no motivation to do so."

This is the point I keep making: there are all these claims, from Roswell onwards, that the US Govt/USAF/CIA has recovered various crashed alien spacecraft - and yet they have somehow kept every single one secret from every single scientist, including everyone at NASA whose job is to look for alien life  ...... why?

One obvious reason ;)

No.

We keep our new technology secret, even when we test it openly, by making the gullible US public think they are seeing alien invaders from a another world. Daft though may seem to anyone with a brain half the size of a whelk.  And they fall for it every single time....

That door swings both ways, people believers who think ET has ever been here really do not grasp just how vast the universe really is, of course I won't speculate about what form alien life would take on but no matter what its form it's still facing that whole vast distance idea, so in my way of thinking if aliens were out there and could make the trip we would know it , I expect very distant not close encounters if and that's a guailifying if contact with aliens ever does happen.

Sure governments do hide secrets so they have an upper and on their enemies however, crashed aliens isn't one of them,  I imagine many worlds military would be delighted to have crashed aliens but its simplt not the case.

From what I have seen so far, I think that every UFO can be put in the misenterpretation of earthly phenomenon basket... man made or other.

Lies and hoaxes are also very high up on the list.

Exactly correct! You wont win cool points with true believers, they hate me like poison but and I say sadly the conclusion I have come to with all paranormal due to total lack of evidence is that it is explainable in prosaic ways, don't get the wrong impression I bet it sucks to sincerely believe ones experience can only be paranormal yet they have zero evidence to support claims, and no, it's not my burden to prove paranormal doesn't exist.

Hoax, made up bs, unknown to witness,

Mental issues/ brain injury

TBS " true believers syndrome" it's that area where a believer refuses their experiences can be anything except paranormal and it's the skeptics who are not "enlightened" it's a closed mind type thing.

Of course I do have a small folder of unexplained just because something can't be explained at the moment makes it rational to jump to the very most unlikely explanation but we see just that happen time and again.

I’m always sceptical of someone that dismisses and disagrees without providing an alternative explanation.

Bill Diamond makes the assumption the government and its security apparatus don’t lie (which is laughable), because he hasn’t seen any classified UFO proof. Like the government needs to keep Bill Diamond in the loop.

He brings up the issue of vast distances without giving the benefit of doubt to metallic objects recorded by military forces and seen by millions displaying aerodynamic properties and propulsion technology beyond ours as being “incapable of moving through time and space”.

This guy needs his head examined for his bias views

Me too. Imagine now being Bill Diamond and you clearly state that ‘we are not the only life in the universe’ but then go off on a tangent and state “but interstellar space travel is impossible” because the government wouldn’t lie on UAP’s” even though the military has filmed these objects

So effectively, according to Billy there is life on other planets just that there is no possibility they can travel through space and time because we haven’t figured a way to do it and because our government wouldn’t “lie”

Hilarious right?

This is what I believe aswell... maybe even intelligent life capable of space flight?

But I dont believe they are capable of breaking the laws of physics, ie FTL.

Our government is not known for it's ability to keep secrets for long. Also there are 194 OTHER countries out there. Do aliens only crash land, contact, butcher cattle, abduct people, probe anally and whatnot ONLY Americans?

I agree with Essan. The US government lets people believe in Aliens because it makes using their new tech a lot easier, "It wasn't us, we cannot say it was aliens but......".

Also Hazzard's angle is a huge factor. People seeing things and misinterpreting them.

Then there are the charlatans. In it for the money. The UFO world is rife with them.

What millions?!

Problem is these stories and leaked tic tac grainy blurry videos have nothing to support claims, those things been debated here ad nauseum and nothing

What makes you think your alleged experience was a human craft?

>Says that an interstellar civilization's technology would be incomprehensible to us.
>Tries to find one by listening for conventional radio signals.

Even Earth only generated a radio bubble for a century or so, the signals we use today mostly don't penetrate the ionosphere anymore. Aliens visiting Earth may be unlikely, but isn't it even more unlikely that SETI will ever actually find anything the way they're doing it?

I mean, we would need to be listening in the right place for a cosmologically insignificant window of time when another, slightly less advanced species is making radio noise. They would need to be close enough that their signals could get to us without being garbled in the interstellar medium, and/or another species at our own level of tech or slightly higher would need to send us a tight-beam transmission like the Arecibo message out of all the exoplanets they have to choose from, and that's if we're even considered "habitable" by their standards.
