I would say it is a blame game but the cops are not the adversary.  Either we are so far gone we have started destroying ourselves or outside agents have been playing a masterful game to turn one generation against another and twist political philosophies into extremes.  I think we even have a senator so mature as to suggest they be thrown off bridges.   If these students had been chanting hang Mike Pence instead of death to Israel, would they be patriots?

It is really just about too late, but we need to embrace principles and not charismatic leaders. Stand for something or fall for anything as the old saying goes.

The remainder were released with summonses – a low-level ticket telling the individual they’ve been charged by a city agency for violating a rule, law or regulation and will need to appear to respond to that charge.

 

 

The students who were arrested were released with summonses. The university said all of the 100 or so students involved in the protest had been informed that they were suspended. For some of those students, that means they must vacate their student housing, with just weeks before the semester ends.

What I've seen so far is pretty lame. When push comes to shove, they give up. They've got no fire in their bellies. The weakest hippy from the '60s could beat the crap out of most of them. It has nothing to do with Israel, it is about what world politics is always about, power.

India is a rising star in the global economy, their future is bright.  They are friendly rivals with the US and they seem to try to maintain peace with China.  A year or two of distraction and chaos in the US would give them a bit of time catching up technologically. 

They benefit.  It does not mean they had foreknowledge  of the protests or were involved, 

Who benefits from a whole year of US students losing ground?  It won't be just the protestors, it will be every student affected by school shut downs, from hundreds of thousands to a few million. 

Who would benefit from making people angry enough at colleges to shut them down?

India is having border tensions with China, and there has been clashes between the Chinese and Indian armies, the two largest armies on earth which is still ongoing.

I do not disagree.  Sorry if I offended you by putting India in the category of a world power, but they are growing into the role. I think India will bring needed talents to the global table.  But if you are looking for answers you ask a lot of questions.  Some are dead ends. I rather hope that India was not involved,  We are good friends with India and have a ton of shared goals and values. That wouldn't stop us from taking a few actions in India that are beneficial to the US. As India becomes a world power, they will likely take a few actions that benefit India.  It appears Canada has some suspicions about the Sikh separatist taken out in Canada.

See, 9/11 took out four American planes with their passengers and brought down the World Trade Centre and Pentagon with thousands of American casualties. This started the US war on terror in 2001 which is continuing now as well.  They have violated the sovereignty of other countries to take out the likes of Bin Laden, Mullah Omar and many others. 

Canadian Sikh terrorists brought down a single Indian airplane , Air India 182 in 1984 which killed 24 Indian citizens, 268 Canadian citizens and 27 British citizens were killed in the crash. More foreign nationals were killed than Indian nationals.

Indian security forces are obviously seeking to prevent such a massacre again.

A senior New York Police Department official shared photos on Friday of “tools of agitators” that officers had recovered after clearing a Columbia University building occupied by anti-Israel protesters earlier in the week.

“Gas masks, ear plugs, helmets, goggles, tape, hammers, knives, ropes, and a book on TERRORISM,” NYPD Deputy Commissioner Kaz Daughtry wrote on X, formerly Twitter, adding: “These are not the tools of students protesting, these are the tools of agitators, of people who were working on something nefarious.”
