College campuses are in chaos with arrests being made all over the US

Here's the latest as to what Pennsylvania's Governor has to say.

Gov. Shapiro addresses protests on college campuses (yahoo.com)

“My administration has been in close contact with universities here in PA both reminding them of their responsibilities under state law and federal law to keep their students safe and free from discrimination and making sure that the rules of the local community and the rules of the commonwealth of PA are adhered to every step of the way,” Governor Shapiro explained.

He says there should be a place for peaceful protests, but what we are seeing in some cases are people using it as an excuse to engage in antisemitism.

Over time, these tepid protests will lose momentum as these jellybean jihadists grow bored and go back to their toys and posh idyllic lifestyles. Only the core fanatics will remain and attempt to carry on. Full time protesting is hard work, full of painful deprivations and most of these children have never worked full time at anything before.

Too bad we don't have a commander in chief who will bring people together instead of hiding under his desk. I seem to remember a lot of blame being laid at Trump's feet for the George Floyd riots saying how he had divided everyone. Biden barely made a four minute "speech" after two weeks. Fat lot of good that was.

One of Biden's biggest priorities is the mega-deal with Saudi Arabia, a deal that includes a peace agreement between it and Israel — something that will not be realized until there's an end to the conflict. He also wants the return of the hostages (some of whom are American), but Hamas has made it clear that that too is contingent on a permanent ceasefire.

His biggest mistake, in my opinion, is his administration's failure to contain Iran. Indeed, as far as I know, the US has yet to even acknowledge Iran's role in planning and carrying out the October 7 massacre via its terrorist proxies. In fact, it took Biden like forever to realize the Houthis were terrorists.

I don't know if Trump would be any better or worse in this situation, so I will not comment. But it would be nice to see all sides of the political spectrum come to the realization that Hamas and the other terrorist groups in the region are not just a threat to Israel, but also a threat to the US and the rest of the western world. As far as the situation with the universities goes, the US (and other countries) need to come to terms with the fact that a significant number of their students are ripe for radicalization.

The people financing these protests are some of his biggest supporters.

Watch SNL’s skewering of pro-Palestinian campus protests

For those who missed it, “Saturday Night Live” opened its latest episode with a skit mocking pro-Palestinian college students who have erected anti-Israel encampments on campuses across the country rather than going to class.

Note: It appears the video in the article is accessible to US residents only.

NEW YORK (AP) — Columbia University canceled its large university-wide commencement ceremony Monday following weeks of pro-Palestinian protests that have roiled its campus and others across the U.S., but said students will still be able to celebrate at a series of smaller, school-based ceremonies this week and next.

The decision comes as universities around the country are wrangling with how to handle commencements. Another campus shaken by protests, Emory University, announced Monday that it would move its commencement from its campus quadrangle in Atlanta to a suburban arena. But others, including the University of Michigan, Indiana University and Northeastern, have pulled off ceremonies with few disruptions.

At the moment Hamas probably isn't going to agree to anything. Why should they? They have students, and others, protesting all over the western world waving their flags and singing their slogans.

Here's the article I read on the subject:

Pro-Palestinian protesters are backed by a surprising source: Biden’s biggest donors

Some of the most outspoken groups against Biden and Israel get funding from foundations attached to some of the biggest names in Democratic circles.

So much hypocrisy coming from all this...

Guess I can see why Joe's so confused and saying nothing...

Hell his administration is making sure these kids aren't being charged, making sure they have their skim vegan mocha lattes, even make sure they have literature in forms of pamphlets explaining how to take over a campus...

They are a pampered and well taken care of bunch of "revolutionaries", that's for sure.

Well, here's a new one. You need to read this whole article.

University of Mississippi investigates student over Palestine counter-protest (msn.com)

The conduct of at least one student at the University of Mississippi is under official investigation after white counter-protesters at a pro-Palestinian demonstration made what the school called “offensive, hurtful, and unacceptable” statements with “racist overtones”.

The university’s chancellor, Glenn Boyce, said that a conduct investigation had been launched into one student and more might follow in the wake of Thursday’s volatile scenes on campus. The clash occurred after a diverse group of about 30 students protesting against Israel’s war in Gaza were outnumbered by almost entirely white counter-protesters at a ratio of 10 to one, according to the Mississippi Free Press.

I looked into protests at Penn State and they've had them. No police action took place other than to redirect traffic around the march. Students say they will pick up where they left off when the fall semester begins.

That wasn't the story I was expecting. Such behaviour is totally unacceptable.

This is getting crazier by the minute. Maybe summer break will give some relief.

I hear you. I know colleges have summer semesters but I don't think the attendance is what it is during the school year. Maybe it will cool off a little bit.

This tweet from Mosab Hassan Yousef is interesting. For those of you who don't yet know of him, he's a Palestinian ex-militant and the son of Hassan Yousef, one of the co-founders of Hamas.

I wouldn't bet on it... heading towards the heat of summer, during an election year.

I only expect things to really heat up...Some of the pro's who have been caught agitating have been caught encouraging students to start another Summer of Love.

Is it not the US government’s duty to protect its citizens from foreign agents and their extremist ideologies? Do they not see that many of the students protesting are serving the agendas of America's worst enemies?

One last tweet from Mosab Hassan Yousef. It would behoove some of the student protesters to read this.

Mosab Hassan Yousef had better have some top notch security or I'm afraid they'll get him.

I've been wondering about the summer Olympics too. It wouldn't be a first but I don't know if Hamas and their supporters would do what the PLO did in 1972. I have to admit it's crossed my mind. I remember those scenes. It was horrible. There's a lot of crap flying around everywhere. The US has raised it's internal terrorist alert so people know an attack could easily happen.

Probably not at Penn State main campus, over 90% of the students who go there live in apartments off campus, about 46,000 under grad students and only dorms for approximately 5,000 undergrad and grad students, a large percentage stay at the campus/town year round regardless if they are taking summer classes or not.
