US State Dept issues worldwide alert amid threat of violence against LGBT community

The US State Department on Friday issued a worldwide caution security alert, saying it is aware of increased potential for foreign terrorist organization-inspired violence against LGBTQ+ people and events.

"Due to the potential for terrorist attacks, demonstrations, or violent actions against US citizens and interests, the Department of State advises US citizens overseas to exercise increased caution," the department said in a statement. The alert comes two weeks before the start of LGBTQ+ Pride Month in the United States.

I'm honestly wondering how some of these events are gonna turn out...

I've seen a few LGBTQ groups out supporting Gaza, saying some fairly startling things about Jews...

Strange alliances make for strange happenings sometimes.

They're too stupid to understand that.

The alliance is indeed somewhat strange on the surface, but at the same time, it's admirable in a way to support the rights of people who don't support yours. Some LGBTQ groups don't seem to be bothered too much about the rampant homophobia in Gaza, Others whitewash it and claim it's not as bad there as it is elsewhere in the world.

The article cited below makes some interesting observations and arguments, including the following:

[A]ctivists throughout the West have paraded signs bearing the message “Queers for Palestine” — a slogan that some have ridiculed as the equivalent of “Chickens for KFC.” Earlier this month a banner was hung in the University of British Columbia reading: “Trans liberation can’t happen without Palestinian liberation.”

It’s unclear why LGBTQ rights are in any way dependent on Palestinian self-determination — activist explanations here tend to be vague and muddled at best. Is the argument that no disadvantaged social group can be free until all are? If that’s the case, then why is this logic rarely, if ever, applied to antisemitism?

Exactly!

Some wondered why BLM,but others all a sudden don't,at least not to the same degree politically.

There should be 1 standard for all,but far too many truly want preferential treatment moreso than equality for all.

Look at the ladies who started BLM...

That would indeed stop BLM.  You would be doing what they are protesting about.
