itsnotoutthere Posted June 9 #5 Share Posted June 9 Can't possibly think why the people of europe would be voting this way!! What could be behind this sudden shift?

What could be behind this sudden shift? Maybe they didn't know what they were voting for. Or perhaps Putin made them do it.!! In any case, my thoughts go out to the 'FBPE' crowd at this difficult time. 😂😂😂 FBPE: "The EU is progressive whilst we’re a fascist little island." Reality: "A good proportion of the EU is moving to the right and nationalist parties have significant support amongst the youth vote." Black Red Devil Posted June 9 #7 Share Posted June 9 There is simply one reason right wing governments are gaining ground, illegal immigration. It was predictable years ago when Merkel invited millions of refugees in from Syria, Afghanistan and other Middle Eastern nations without even vetting the incomers. Even worse, this was happening at the time when ISIS was running rampant, chopping heads off and blowing themselves up. Imagine that!! Inviting millions from war torn Islamic countries and not even knowing if there were radical Islamists amongst the refugees. Crazy. This association the left has with humanitarianism, thinking all refugees were and will automatically integrate by accepting western values and culture, was wishful thinking to say the least. If only 5% of 1 million unvetted refugees were radical Islamists, you have 50,000 possible terrorists ready to die for their cause. I'm all for immigration and multiculturalism by controlled and stringently vetted.

You are saying what the politicians won't i.e. ordinary voters are fed up with their governments dumping the third world on their doorstep.
