Reform candidate said UK should have been neutral against Hitler (Telegraph)

A candidate for Reform UK claimed the country would be “far better” if it had “taken Hitler up on his offer of neutrality” instead of fighting the Nazis.

Ian Gribbin, who is aiming to oust the Conservatives in Bexhill and Battle in East Sussex, also reportedly wrote online that women were the “sponging gender” and should be “deprived of health care”.

The BBC reported that in posts allegedly made in 2022 on the UnHerd magazine website, Mr Gribbin said Sir Winston Churchill, the wartime prime minister, was “abysmal” and praised Vladimir Putin.

Mr Gribbin declined to comment when approached by the BBC but a Reform spokesman said the alleged comments were not “endorsements” but “written with an eye to inconvenient perspectives and truths”, while his remarks about women were “tongue in cheek”.

In July 2022, Mr Gribbin reportedly posted on the UnHerd website: “Britain would be in a far better state today had we taken Hitler up on his offer of neutrality … but oh no Britain’s warped mindset values weird notions of international morality rather than looking after its own people.”

I see the BBC are spending their/our money wisely.

I guess we will see similar breaking news stories of LibDem and Labour candidates shortly. 😉

I really doubt Hitler would have ever honored a neutrality agreement with Britain.

They did though, until he broke an agreement with someone else and realised “hey, this mad ****’s a mad ****” and had to do something loud about it.

Evidence from offence archaeology proves that in the 1930s, the left-wing BBC supported left-wing National Socialism and Hitler, and opposed right-wing conservatism and Churchill.

In 1933, Kuenssberg’s right-wing granddad was invited to join the left-wing SS. But ran away to right-wing Britain.

In 1934, the Director-General of the BBC wrote: “I really admire the way Hitler has cleaned up what looked like an incipient revolt. I really admire the drastic actions taken, which were obviously badly needed.”

In 1939, the Director-General of the BBC wrote: “Hitler continues his magnificent efficiency.”

In 2000, left-wing Laura Kuenssberg joins the left-wing BBC.

In 2006, Reith’s daughter, Marista Leishman, wrote that in the 1930s her father did everything possible to keep Winston Churchill, and other right-wing opponents of national socialism, off the BBC.

Are any of those people standing for election in 2024?

Also "left wing Laura Kuenssberg" has previously been censured by Ofcom for her biased coverage favouring the right wing.

Finally, if you're going to copy and paste other people's comments, at least provide the source:

I actually thought Farage's response was pretty reasonable. Basically "it's a snap election, we're playing catch-up but there might be a few nutters get through".

Of course, the proof will be in whether Reform actually drops Gribbens now...

He would have, temporarily. He initially didn’t want war with England, wanted them to stay out of the coming conflict. After he conquered the continent, that would have been a different story.

There are so many people who cannot even accept that they were socialist and far-left.

An imperialistic, nationalistic, and xenophobic, version of our Labour Party. They were not free enterprise or capitalist but socialist, and were working towards their stated objective of nationalising all organisations except for small businesses. They dismantled the German class system, they expanded benefits and social healthcare, and while they hated Bolshevism they were close to being Communist themselves. Then there is their secret police state apparatus used to enforce their version of totalitarianism, classic Communist behaviour.

I have always maintained that find any genocide since socialism came into existence, and the people who did it were socialist. Here in the UK its not the right wing parties that have the problems with Hamas supporters and anti-Semitism, its the socialists. Its not the right undertaking illegal wars and trying to get dictator powers during it, its the socialists. Its not the right trying to become thought police and close down free speech, its the socialists. Its not the right hijacking the education system to brainwash youngsters, its the socialists. I could go on for some time as there are many things on the list which are objectional.

Just look at what the socialists get up to while portraying right wing parties as nazis.

Lets correct many peoples beliefs of Britain during WW2.

So, public opinion polling undertaken in Britain at the time is available for all to see on Wiki. It may come as a shock and many may not wish to see the results. Lets just say Hitler was popular here too and leave it at that. Set in the correct context then one has to remember that Britain invented social Darwinism, and it was firmly imbedded throughout the western world back then including in the UK. As the greatest power the world had ever known then one can easily see why Brits believed themselves to be racially superior over peoples like the Indians, and others.

Do you know most Brits today are completely oblivious to the fact that PM Churchill had to put down a coup attempt? Both our deposed Monarch and Mosely were arrested when they tried to implement it. Our ex-King was sent to live somewhere he could have no influence, and Mosely was imprisoned. Rudolf Hess is suspected to have been on a special diplomatic mission to meet them when he was detained, but that is still sealed so we don`t know for sure.

Hitler was indeed hoping to remove Churchill so us Brits could be brought onboard as allies in their war of imperialism against the Soviets. He miscalculated, Churchill shut down that coup attempt, and we fought on.
