MrsGently Posted June 27 #1 Share Posted June 27 Let's colaborate on this one, if humanity would have one prayer free that gets heard by the Almighty guranteed, what would have to be in it? My first suggestion/draft: Dear God, please make humanity less stupid. Make us better so we can't lie and cheat and destroy anylonger but instead become a force of constructive organization. Instead of spreading death and suffering let us be invincible in our pursuit of truth, justice, liberty and the pursuit of happiness for every living soul on this planet and beyond. More ideas? I want humanity to have a little less free will, it seems a price worth paying for a little 'paladin patch'. Just no more lies and hate and bull****ting and pretending 4
Guyver Posted June 27 #2 Share Posted June 27 Uh…excuse me, dear lady. How in the bloody hell is anyone around here going to be willing to help you with the perfect prayer if they can’t even get one answer from a crossword puzzle? You need Gandhi. I bet Gandhi could probably come up with some good ideas. Or Socrates….he’s pretty good. Or Shakespeare…..bring in some Bard, go to town. “For, if every day were a holiday for to sport, then even to sport would become tedious.” 1
Guyver Posted June 27 #3 Share Posted June 27 I’ve heard it said the the perfect prayer is, “Help me God.” That is my first offering of collaboration. 3

Guyver Posted June 27 #6 Share Posted June 27 Here’s my second offer, as part of a prayer to consider….. “I’d like to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony. I’d like to hold it in my arms and keep it company. I’d like to see the world for once, standing hand in hand.” Coke a Cola Bottling Company. 2 1

What if someone actually could channel Shakespeare. That would be amazing. There was one case in history that substantiates such a thing being possible. There was an uneducated woman who channeled a writer from the past and became famous in America.
Guyver Posted June 27 #10 Share Posted June 27 It was in a time long ago, in the hot dusty west. Meaning, young America.
Guyver Posted June 27 #11 Share Posted June 27 I vaguely remember another good prayer, that will probably incorrectly attribute to St. Francis of Assisi. If I’m not mistaken, he’s kind of the saint of the animals. You know? Nature loves him. Butterflies come around, rabbits and deer mate. Anyway…I think it goes like this… May I never be so full that I would forget the hungry.
Guyver Posted June 27 #12 Share Posted June 27 Some people say a prayer of gratitude is the best prayer. A prayer that says, in spite of this miserable life, I am thankful, grateful and appreciative of this beautiful thing. Ricky Bobby badly misused it when he prayed that he was thankful for his smoking hot wife. But wait! Who are we to judge? Maybe being thankful for your smoking hot wife is an honest thing and gods be praised. My prayer of gratitude would be that I literally played the most amazing show, by myself at home with my two boys the other night who are home on vacation. That was so wonderful I thank the gods and wish it were recorded. 2
Guyver Posted June 27 #13 Share Posted June 27 There’s just something you can feel when you play with skillful players. Words can’t explain it but it’s like electric flow. Anyway, the way that you know it’s real, is because when you play with inferior players, the feeling isn’t always there. 1

Guyver Posted June 27 #15 Share Posted June 27 I am thankful for the good times. That’s what I believe in, that is my religion. I don’t know if that makes a good prayer or not. But, it did work for Reverend Al Green.

Sir Wearer of Hats Posted June 27 #17 Share Posted June 27 Doesn’t the Lord’s Prayer have its origins in the Bible, ascribed to none other than Jesus himself? That one. 3

XenoFish Posted June 27 #19 Share Posted June 27 (edited) Perfect prayer? "I have to do it myself." God isn't doing ****. Religious prayers are just affirmations in a party dress. Edited June 27 by XenoFish 2 1
Alchopwn Posted June 27 #20 Share Posted June 27 May humanity grow faster in wisdom and compassion. I tried that one. It worked. Now look at us. Everyone is doing their spiritual exams via online services. 1

+Hammerclaw Posted June 29 #25 Share Posted June 29 Oh, Lord, forgive three sins that are due to my human limitations. Thou art Everywhere, but I worship thee here: Thou art without form, but I worship thee in these forms; Thou needest no praise, yet I offer thee these prayers and salutations. Lord, forgive three sins that are due to my human limitations." From THE FAR PAVILLIONS 1
