Quote

World UFO Day is observed and celebrated on July 2nd every year to raise awareness about Unidentified Flying Objects UFOs) and alien life forms.

The day aims to discuss and educate people about UFOs, flying saucers, and sightings of bright blue light in the sky that make headlines across the world.

It was founded by the UFO hunter Haktan Akdogan. The first World UFO Day was celebrated in 2001 and spread awareness among people to gaze at the heavens scanning for unidentified flying objects.

It was 77 years ago, the 2nd of July 1947, when the very famous Roswell (alleged) crash of an alien UFO took place. The rest as we say it's history.

The World UFO Day is an opportunity for people to come together, share their experiences, discuss about the topic, watch the skies for UFOs, and raise awareness of the existence of UFOs.

It is believed that the first World UFO Day was celebrated in 2001 by UFO researcher Haktan Akdogan and one of the scopes of the July 2 celebration is to encourage governments to release information and declassify documents and materials on the subject.

Thanks for the reminder, MrAnderson. it;s a great reason to sit outside, imbibing, while staring off into the distant skies :)

It's one great hobby to stare at the skies. If you happen to have a decent telescope then it will give you enough motivation to go out there and do it on a regular basis. 🤗

Speaking of... as fun and entertaining the tinfoil crowd may be, they are doing more damage to UFOlogy than any skeptics ever could.

We have a couple of good examples here at UM.

It's true some people (not implying anyone here at UM) are too eager to accept everything they hear coming to conclusions out of nowhere and damage UFOlogy.

Skeptics Vs Believers is not a good way to approach this phenomenon. What do these characterizations even mean? It's equally terrible to accept and reject everything based on personal bias and worldviews.

Yes, yes I am.

What has been the direct benefit of World UFO day? What has a recognized day provided information on? That there are objects that remain unidentified? Wonderful. Truly groundbreaking.

If I may, since I see you're a new member to the forums. What has caused you to take a such a direct interest in the UFO topic? What are your experiences?

Maybe it's like Earth Day where the only thing accomplished is giving clean up crews hours of overtime picking up Starbucks cups and wrappers.

Why not just look for UFO’s and eat donuts at the same time?  It’s what some may call a win-win situation lol.

Love an old fashion donut, and if I could eat one and have a UFO sighting, that could be a pretty good day!  Of course, everyone would believe I ate the donut….

Did you not see my thread on the sightings section?

My background is not in Ufology. I ve worked in the Air Force and I have mathematical and scientific background.

I happen to be lucky enough to have my own sighting of a cigar shaped object back in 2011.

Nevertheless, the amount of sightings and evidence points to the existence of UFOs beyond any doubt. But to admit this, it's very different when you have a personal experience.
