again, NO FOOTPRINTS found - or were they even searched for?! And "bear"... at nighttime? I doubt that.

A lot of folks (parents) knew they were going and one likely took advantage of the young people's gullibility and fears. That is my most logical guess.

Not to be a contrarian, Earl, but if the ground is dry, and hard, footprints are unlikely. If you knew what to look for, you might find claw marks from a bear. The best places to see tracks is along river banks, or lake shores. Personally I doubt cops could tell the difference between bear tracks, and grouse scratching. You may be right though about a prank though.

High school kids out partying in the woods claim to see a 5ft creature with red glowing eyes.
We of course have zero supporting evidence.
Most creatures have red eye reflections so no big deal there and since I'm six ft two a five ft creature isn't very big either.
Like the um bots story suggests the kids might have been drinking and we could add to that taking stuff.
Idk how many kids were in this group but we're they all chickens? If I was there I would have checked it out not cowered and cryed for police.
Of course if they pulled the hoax on the cops no need for them to have tried to check it out, I kind of doubt a hoax pulled on them however one possibility is a person living off the radar in the woods spooked them.
I knew a hog hunter about 30 years back he said would encounter these woods people he said most would be just a fleeting glimpse but some would ask him for food or cigs,
So if kids saw something like that then it's just misidentifying not a deliberate hoax.
So I write this off as likey nothing, but no fears drop bear will be by to rate it likely paranormal.

Maybe it was the Loup Garou. I'd trust Troy Landry and some of the other hunters on Swamp people before a bunch of kids . Not saying they didn't see something. But kids like to party, they drink booze and smoke things, so who knows. If I was the cop out there and got the call, I'd talk to them, and then do a little digging with the locals, especially the older folks to see if they have any stories. Could just be a bear on its hind legs. Didn't figure they were worth eating.

 No.  I think I mentioned before the story of my great grandmother and her family here before. They lived in Gambach, Bavaria. They wet to a neighboring  town for a fair. They were late going home and took this path over the hill side. While walking, the family had the uneasy feeling they were being followed. They looked back and saw this bar of light, hovering in the air behind them. The light followed them till they got to a  road side shrine,  and stayed there, hovering  and didn't follow them any more.

The whole thing was so strange, that her father asked around the next day or so about the light. He was told by some of the older towns people , that yes they knew of the light. It was the spirit of a girl who was murdered at the location of the shrine.

He was also told people have used that pathway going back to the Children's Crusade or earlier.
