My mother and father were allowed to immigrate to the United States from Germany in the late 1940s after the war. I am the first American citizen in my family, I was born in St. Louis, Missouri in 1959. I am fluent in three languages one being German, that video you posted was hilarious, it reminded me of a character in Hogan’s Hero’s a German guard named Shultz.

Yes, I remember Hogan's Hero's it was on at about 5pm here and I would watch after school.

Those magnificent men in their flying machines is an entertaining film, if you haven't seen it I would recommend it.

Correct me if I'm wrong but what I got from listening to her overly dry sarcastic riddled 12 minute video was she is questioning why Germany is not as industrious and technology advanced as it once was and how it appears like it's not going to change course anytime in the near future?

It couldn't be the result of immigration policies, could it?  All nations eventually fade and fall but it is especially egregious, even disgusting, when that fall is caused by betrayal from within.

I don't believe thats what she is referring to nor do I, myself, believe immigration has anything to do with it. Inefficiency seems to be the problem. Bloated government bureaucracy. Here in Canada it's no different. Throwing loads of money at projects when the majority of the funds gets used up just studying the proposed project before any actually concrete work is started. Things just don't get done efficiently anymore. She talked extensively about the rail network. I, personally have been wondering why Canada doesn't have an extensive cross Province/National rail network at all nevermind Germany's problem of maintaining the current one.

Funding a bigger population would take money from other areas, health care and education are all state funded, with less going to infrastructure projects.

There must have been a decision made to cut the cake this way and now Germany struggle to grow the economy and receive extra tax from growth to pay for more healthcare and education.

Its what happens when you priorities the wrong end of the economy, demand instead of supply.

It is classic liberal thinking.

Hypothetical example -

If a village is suffering drought Liberals and the left will insist all available money is spent on supplying bottled water.

Right wing thinkers would insist some of the money go to building new wells and pumps so longer term the village is self sufficient.

Left thinkers then climb onto their morale high ground and say the right are sacrificing lives that could be saved.

Often the right do not have the backbone to stand being called callous, their argument is often ignored by the press who think there is more interest in a story about some politicians wanting to kill off villagers due to not enough bottled water. They often have a left wing bias.

Merkal in Germany bought too many water bottles and not enough new water wells.

The effects of this is now apparent in Germany and a warning to others who think looking nice is the best policy.

Germany is still in the EU and that is a big problem as the assets (quotas) are running out to pay off the Germn.industries. Then add another 20 million heads through immigration across the EU and very quickly.... there's no money to fix stuff.
