Didnt you say earlier that ... You cant make an assessment based on someones rate of a post...??

When you like a post you do agree with its content or is it that that like it because you want rate a friend? Did you read about the proof? It looks like is nowhere to be seen.

Post #201 on the relevant thread.

Go to the poster and see what he says about the proof he has if you think it's a lie. Another posts says that the only person on this planet that thought air flight was impossible was Kelvin. That's not true either.

I still want to see the proof but nobody has been able to provide it. I mean the mathematical proof. I think you rated this post. If you could provide it please.

Been rhere, done that.

No one said there is apeoof that humans can't guess. That us dishonest characterisation of what was said.  You're doing that quite a bit.

BTW, I asked "How long is an object that subtends 6 degees of angle?"

Got an answer yet?

Look at this yourself. I am sure you can read. Then look at the posts before this and the ones after. There is nothing dishonest. You either didn't read the post or you are disingenuous.

Here we are looking for the proof and not to deviate to off topic conversations.

What assessment?

Did you not agree with the post? I suppose you did by give it a like. But did you really agree or understood what the poster said?

Im just wondering why you are trying to set different rules for the skepical crowd than for yourself?

I am not speaking generally here. Just about one post that makes a lot of difference as it has been rated by a number of posters. What is it that you rated? Did you read the post? What proof is there that you see and agree with? By the way there is very good article I am reading on UFOs. Let's see if we can make a nice thread.

There you go again 😄 making an assessment because of a rating!

You said earlier that we can rate posts even though we dont necessarily agree with everything they said.

Or does that just apply to you?

You haven't told me if you agree or not. And you why anyone will rate a post if they completely disagree with it (if you do). And yes posters can rate otherseven if they don't agree with the entirety of the post.

No, I am not and you know it well.

Make sure you include my post and the reply, not just the reply.

Here it is again.

@Hankenhunter

Just wanted your opinion on post #201. You can seen my reply and the reply by the other poster. And I have included it here in post #250.

What I am trying to say is that after the talk that pilots, radar operators, ground observers, may not be reliable or not having good observational skills now we are getting to the point that it's not possible to estimate distances and lengths (mathematics proves it as it has been said). So no way you can tell much about UFOs. Just drop the whole conversation.

That's why I blocked the worst of them. If the rest of you guys blocked them it would be much more peaceful, and productive. We could actually have discussions without all the naysayers polluting threads for sharts, and giggles. As a bonus, a lot more people would show up for discussions without all the rabble rousers present. The thing is, you have to stick to it, and not be tempted to look, and respond. iow, stop feeding the trolls.

Or, you could just move in with the SpamBird and roll around in that echo chamber filled to the rim with spam, logical fallacies and ignorance.

In your opinion everything is an echo chamber with spam, logical fallacies, trolling, ignorance. But that's in your opinion. For a good number of posters here, the arguments made are logical, the conversation is reasonable, the links are given, and if you agree you agree. If you disagree you disagree. If you don't want to hear what @skyeagle409 has to say then you don't need to visit his thread anymore. But you seem stuck and I wonder why.

On the topic of this thread, like I said so many times, I know what I saw and it was a cylindrical UFO. You may believe it you may reject it outright but it doesn't bother me at all. There is no way I will change my account on what I saw and I am very confident in my observational skills and all other skills I have.

No only spamgoose's thread where you and the other seal clappers keep spinning the same old speculative conjecture over the same stories and alleged events.

Items that have been exhaustively discussed and debated in these sub forums. Where if you take the time, you'll see have been explained and/or debunked hundreds if not thousands of times before.

Dare to guess the provenance of said alleged cylindrical UFO? Come on Zetorian, let's see a little intestinal fortitude on your part.

I said you can easily estimate lengths and heights end you said it's impossible by mathematics. Can you prove this assertion and show me how did you come up to this conclusion?

Since you're unable to understand even the most basic algebra, my proof which was an equation with two dependent variables went straight over your head. As I clearly stated more than once size and distance are the two dependent variables and have a trigonometric relation to each other. Of course someone who claimed to have worked "for years in academia" doing "physics and maths" doesn't need basic algebra and trigonometry explained to them.

But an uneducated man does. You showed us that you can't even understand what "x = 2y" expresses so that explains why simple mathematics is "some random sentences" to you. You don't even have the education of an average U.S. teenager which is not a high bar in this world.

And no, Mr. Anderson, basic algebra doesn't need peer review and no educated person demands proof of the rules of algebra because that would make them look ignorant of basic math.

You've demonstrated that you don't even know how to understand what you see. You are the worst possible witness to anything.

Prove me wrong: tell me what the values of x and y are in "x = 2y".

Easiest math question ever.  I don’t understand why it wasn’t answered.  MrAnderson, do you know the answer? @MrAnderson

So it's impossible by methrmsyivs to estimate heights and lengths.

Accusations accusations accusations. Based on? Personal opinion that you think it's a fact.

I understand well what I saw. A cylindrical UFO. Not rocket science.
