Abramelin Posted July 9 #1 Share Posted July 9 A court in Iran has sentenced the jailed Nobel Peace Prize winner Narges Mohammadi to an additional year in prison, her lawyer says. The 52-year-old human rights activist was convicted of spreading “propaganda against the system” by a branch of Tehran’s Revolutionary Court, Mostafa Nili wrote on X, formerly Twitter. He said the reasons cited by the court included “comments about Ms Dina Qalibaf”, a student who alleged she was tortured and sexually assaulted by security forces, as well as her call to boycott March’s election and letters to Swedish and Norwegian MPs. Ms Mohammadi had refused to attend the trial, denouncing it as “unjust and farcical”. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c2vv4e2edg1o 1 2

Will Western civilization survive the plague of prosecutorial misconduct? I think this has to do with men not acknowledging the fact they were born from women. If women are indeed inferior, as these howler monkeys suggest, than they themselves are inferior too. Religion is mental poison.

Ajay0 Posted July 10 #5 Share Posted July 10 The ancient Persians had three Persian queens who ruled them, as I remember reading and who were good administrators as well. Women were generally held in high esteem and occupied dignified positions. It was the Arab invasion that brought in Islamization of Persia-Iran and brought about the lowered status of women with the hijabs and burkhas. I have met Iranian students in India and found them decently attired in modern clothing without the hijabs and burkhas. 2
