therefore what's the point of the paper do you think, just out of interest. I say these so called bloody academics should put their brains to better use.

personally i'd say it's a stupid to waist time effort & no doubt money on something so bloody stupid!!

if this is an example of a modern academic brain then god help us all

Somebody wasted good grant money on this..

It doesn't need to be examined given current understanding.

It's garbage....

That's your view referring to the statement that there should be no examination. This is where they disagree and I am sure you will find others who have the same position.

So you say the forum is only for scientific facts and not personal views and opinions/beliefs. I can hardly see it. Much of what is posted is personal opinion.

No, I am not saying that at all. What I am saying is why post an article by authors that are unqualified to speak about the subject matter and especially when they tell you that the article is bogus and the information within it is false. The only reason you would do that is because in your opinion the subject matter is true and you want to discuss it. If you want to discuss something, you don’t have to supply a source, just present a tile and say it’s an opinion. But in the future it’s best not to post trash like the source you posted for this thread.

Does it not worth the effort and time to post the paper especially when it comes from there academics who express their opinion on UFOs and have said that their hypothesis is most likely wrong but needs to be examined.

Nobody who actually has a decent background in earth sciences or archaeology would even "entertain" it.

Not that much. Just a paper.

Will you say that string theory is waste of money and effort/time?

That's actually a theory. Not something pulled out of someone's ass.

Never said the subject matter is true. Not even the authors have said it. This isn't a scientific paper but they approach the subject from a philosophical viewpoint.

I have given the source and the link if you have noticed. In the link they clearly state this is their personal opinion and not anything factual. Then they argue no matter how impossible something seems people should be open minded and discuss it or examine the hypothesis.

No results nothing to expect in the future. It's a mathematical theory with not much to support it. You can do a PhD in the area, get paid and even have a career. But string theory is based on mathematical speculation and not on experimental or observational evidence. There is no evidence any of string theory is correct. As we say in physics it's a dead end.

Come on! Belief and personal opinion are not subject to proof or even evidence.

Why would I be demanding evidence?

Im fully aware that he said "I have come to believe there are beings in our earth plane"....

I just thought it might be interesting to read what had him convinced.

I saw a government grant written to study why little girls mangle Barbie dolls. It doesn't get stupider than that.

No chit, Piney. But surely trying to explain unexplained phenomena that perplexes the military and intelligence agencies is not a waste of money?

I just made the point that even wthat you may consider to be evidence based research could be speculation at a mathematical level like string theory. But you get grants and a career sometime ls on these areas.

I found the article interesting because it was written by three academics and their explanation good. They said no matter how impossible something seems people should not reject it outright.

Do you mean having a discussion on a discussion forum?  That's a novel concept.

This movement to stifle any discussion that isn't supernatural or paranormal is not rational.

Academics in general. Their hypothesis. It's on the paper. Others will outright reject it others will be more open to it.

Not with that lame brain idea.

A earth scientist with a background in archaeology and geology  just did it for you.
