pellinore Posted July 13 #1 Share Posted July 13 (edited) No one in the UK would waste time on the stupid and vicious Rees Mogg. Maybe the Americans will be taken in by his affected and fake aristocratic airs, but we could see him as the obnoxious piece of work he is. Let's all hope his pathetic GBN job goes now he hasn't got a place in Westminster (not that he ever had anything relevant to say). Jacob Rees-Mogg’s fly-on-the-wall family documentary series was snubbed by major UK broadcasters before ending up on a US subscription channel. Meet the Rees-Moggs, starring the eccentric ex-MP, his wife and six children, has been optimistically billed as a Brit version of the Kardashians. But one ITV source said the decision not to commission it had been easy. The insider said: “Jacob Rees-Mogg is a GB News presenter who has set his sights on furthering his media career now that he is no longer a serving member of parliament. Did we want to help with that? I don’t think so. “The Rees-Mogg doc was turned down by all broadcasters before ending up on Discovery+.” The ex-Cabinet minister had been tipped to reinvent himself after losing his North East Somerset seat in the election. Piney Posted July 13 #2 Share Posted July 13 😆 Those Armenian Pikies the Kardashians probably have more class. Hell! the Duggars probably have more class. What a utter embarrassment to the Wentworth name. Lady Anne's and Judith's graves probably spontaneously combusted..... And for Christsakes Jacob, stop wearing unaltered second hand suits and hire a ****ing valet! 1

The show would have been in the works for some time, before the election was called, so the idea it is to replace his political ambitions is a bit of a stretch. Thats without his time on GB news. Interestingly the show has some top level people involved, Nick Hornby writer of High Fidelity and About a Boy, both made into films, is the executive producer. Given the quality of the show's backroom staff, the Discovery+ series was commissioned by Charlotte Reid for Discovery+ and exec produced for Warner Bros, it was probably too expensive for ITV. 😉

What did he say about the Grenfell victims - they lacked common sense in not disobeying the Fire Brigade's instructions; and he finds the increase in foodbanks over the last decade "heartening". Encouraged Brits to become poorer and lose their freedom of movement while he has an EU passport, moved his finance company to the EU and made millions betting against the UK and banks in the Cayman Islands so he pays minimum tax. Hope you enjoy watching 'Moggy' enjoying his typical day cosplaying a Dickensian hypocrite. Edited July 14 by pellinore

The point I made about those involved and quality of the production still stands. Edited July 16 by L.A.T.1961

Stop pretending because it doesn't suit you.

I think you know the point I was making but refuse to accept the concept.
