Something that was always opposed by Labour, why not give employees proper contracts of employment, they said.

LABOUR SPADS PUT ON STRICT PROBATIONARY CONTRACTS.

It could be worse and they could be be expected to turn up for work every day😉

Probationary periods are part of "proper contracts". What would you prefer, zero hours or to break employment law and employ people on permanent contracts from day 1 regardless of their performance?

I think it is going to be a culture shock seeing No 10 run on legal lines, rather than the corruption we have been used to, where family and friends are given jobs they aren't qualified to do, and aides are elevated to the Lords after 18 months of undistinguished performance.

I look forward to see whether the unions have a similar view.

One mans probationary contract is another's way of putting somebody on a Job for the summer, when it's busy, and then telling them they did not meet targets as measured by HR. This would be the accusation aimed at business by the usual suspects.😉

I will let you decide how to tell the difference.

What a ridiculously desperate attempt to find a problem where none exists.

The "contracts" Labour has opposed are things like zero hour contracts, where the employer demands you're available for work at all times but may or may not actually give you work and only pays you if they do.

This is a regular contract with a probationary period built in. Every job I've had, or know people who have had, has had a probationary period. Four months is actually really generous. Shortest I've seen before was six and my longest was 12. For police officers, it's 2 years.

Is the new government really doing such a great job you're having to make up things to be outraged about? Can you just leave that to @OpenMindedSceptic? Because he actually pulls off the ignorance needed for it. I know you're not this stupid so it just comes across very fake.

Very strange you drag me in.

I have just looked at the FTSE first to get a sense of how Liebour's plans are going since the announcement of what to expect in the King's Speech and it is down today.

The market money has spoken.

I mention you because LAT is now following your model of just making things up to complain about.

Except in your case I'm prepared to believe you genuinely are that ill informed. I know he's smarter than that so it just seems desperate.

Normally I'd say I am living rent free in your head but with Liebour in power they'd probably try to tax it as a benefit in kind.

You do have a major issue. Pellinore agrees with you but look at his Brexit insanity / mania. Pellinore didn't suddenly start understanding the world us normal people inhabit. You are in that same orbit as Pellinore. Snap out of it.

It is interesting to see Liebour's lack of experience shine through. One of a few examples from this week alone.

Very reactive, lacking that proactive and strategic approach.

You live in my head in the same way seeing someone trip in the street stays with you. You're kind of embarrassed for them but can't help finding it funny and it doesn't take a lot of your headspace.

Or one could look at your total refusal to consider anything linked to Brexit could be less than perfect and conclude you, too, don't represent normal people.

The fact you have to lump mr and Pellinore in together based on us agreeing on one issue says everything.
