" In a democracy it would make sense that minorities would lose because they have less votes. It would make more sense to succeed in a liberal republic." A democracy is ruled by the majority of votes, and a minority would have significantly less power in it. The Republic is what freed the blacks from slavery, so it has more power with the Republican Party in charge if it has anybody on their side. Sometime in the recent past these meanings seem to have been reversed or confused though.

Looking at the article , it looks like he says the banking and finance sectors would put them in chains. Trump does the same type of ****. IMO Trump's black folks comment is another part of the pony show to try and get black voters. In general, I agree with your assessment. He was definitely being hyperbolic. Though you cannot deny he explicitly took slavery imagery and attempted to apply it to Republicans and generate a negative impression among the black voting population, I am comfortable putting this one down to hyperbole. Though when I say this about Trump I get called "the Trump Whisperer". So keep in mind that just because the context is clearly indicated within the text that means nothing if you're the Biden Whisperer.

It doesn't make sense historically however because it was the Conservative Democrats who were slave owners in the South, and the Liberal Republicans of the North who freed the slaves. The only part that would be putting minorities in chains is the conservative part, because of higher taxes and less initiatives to help minorities and the poor. Trump is very liberal though, and Biden is very conservative.

Well over 95% of all DC residents vote Democrat.

They're furious about the wave of so-called migrants moving in and receiving benefits that were once available to the black community. ... Can you post a source showing that the benefits are no longer available due to migrants? Not just benefits available to the "black community" but that migrants are removing benefits from ANYONE. I'm actually throwing you a bone here. Show me something where migrants are taking benefits from anyone.

If he is on duty, he is not allowed to support a candidate. I can not go to a political event wearing something that shows what agency I work for.

It was not only odd..but completely irresponsible of him. He was on a serious detail, he was on duty! . . tasked with protecting the president…not cheerleading! thereby completely distracting himself ,and others ,by showboating. ! He can support whichever candidate he likes…on his own time. ?
lightly Posted July 19 #38 Share Posted July 19 I think only a U.S. citizen should receive benefits specifically established for, and paid for by, U.S. citizens. ..things like long term health care and housing etc. .. roll up the red carpet..and they will not come in such numbers. ??? too mean?

Unless they are working under the table which is quite common.
