Grim Reaper 6 Posted July 18 #1 Share Posted July 18 Researchers attributed about 70% of the risk reduction to vaccination against COVID-19 and 30% to changes over time, including the SARS-CoV-2 virus’s evolving characteristics and improved detection and management of COVID-19. The research is published July 17 in The New England Journal of Medicine. “The research on declining rates of long COVID marks the rare occasion when I have good news to report regarding this virus,” said the study’s senior author, Ziyad Al-Aly, MD, a Washington University clinical epidemiologist and global leader in COVID-19 research. “The findings also show the positive effects of getting vaccinated.”. https://scitechdaily.com/decoding-the-decline-scientific-insights-into-long-covids-retreat/
OpenMindedSceptic Posted July 19 #2 Share Posted July 19 I feel they are making a huge leap that just isn't there. This is just lining up another covid style assualt on public finances to allow big companies to trouser huge sums of money. 1
Ell Posted July 19 #3 Share Posted July 19 The weird thing is that corona viruses have existed for millions of years - and suddenly there is such a thing as long covid? What changed? What percentage of long covid patients had previously been admitted to intensive care? Is this a case of iatrogenesis? I suspect that there is still a viral presence in the affected cells. A herpes virus? Or a corona virus? What about micro-RNAs? It is clear that there is something going on that we do not understand. At least I do not understand it ...

Obviously the experts in this field don’t understand it either, however the research continues and I am confident that they will find the answers.
