It's precisely that lack of divulging the President's or Vice President's movement plans that allows for them to make unannounced visits is 'hot' areas. For example, President Biden visiting Ukraine right after the illegal invasion by Russia. Nobody knew he was going there.

If so, it was a masterwork in political orchestration and is still in progress.  I can't believe the Democrats planned to be this good. Could it be an incredible string of good luck?

Biden knew he had to quit as did those around him.  Democrats were wilting and falling into depression and figuring on losing to Trump.

Then the Republican convention happens still thinking they will put a ticket up against Biden and Harris. IMO they thought it was going to be so easy to beat Biden with age issues that rather than pick a VP that would appeal to a broader base they picked JD Vance, 

Then Biden announces and steals the convention news bounce away, and Trump team appears confused and stumbling.  Now Trump suddenly becomes the oldest candidate ever to run for president.  Dramatic turnaround.  Audiences love that.

Kamala gets thrown out to the top dems and makes her case. She need to prove to them she  is strong independent and not standing in Biden's shadow

The test balloon is wildly successful, she gets a fund raising record for two days.  Endorsements start coming in.  Kamala needed to be alone in the spotlight for several days to fight her fights and cement her position..

Then she makes a speech that galvanizes some people and paints the picture of the prosecutor,  versus the  felon   Law and order, the defender of the people vs. Trump.  You may not get into it, but a lot of people do. 

Its not all done, but she passed the first test.  Still the suspense of the convention. and if she prevails and who she will pick as VP  keeps everybody on the Dem side pumped up and gets hits on all the media outlets.

Meantime, Biden is being cast as epic, a hero like Cincinnatus who put the good of the state over personal ambition.   His record will be golden. 

Then wise and heroic Biden appears via phone to endorses Kamala and protect her back before he ascends to Olympus.  It has the quality of an epic tale, people love that.  The old and wise leader blessing the young and strong new leader and handing over leadership to the next generation,

If Joe Biden had been stumping around or making speeches it would have  spoiled Kamala's testing and recognition. She got the spotlight. 

Its still playing out. but all of a sudden the Dems have enthusiasm and hope. They loved this  series of events.  It could have been a movie.

 

 

I'm not convinced it was that planned out.  Biden seemed pretty adamant he was staying in the race up until he wasn't.  I suspect he had to be forced out behind the scenes.

I am not sure it was planned out either, but if not it was good use of circumstances. Do you recognize the form of a hero tale?  Its been around since the beginning.  Before Greeks wrote some down, they were passed around campfires or in caves.  Biden and Harris events have been designed to fit that old and still very satisfying pattern. 

As soon as Biden announced, he became a lame duck.  That is pointless to do early.  Of course he had to stand firm until the instant he made the announcement.  So he waited until the proper time to announce.  Whether he was forced out or realized it himself,  the timing was impeccable.  The written announcement instead of a speech kept Joe out of the media view while Kamala faces her first test. It could not have been planned better.  Trump had already picked his VP, the convention is over, Trump did not get a chance to spin Joe quitting as his own unstoppable power.  Instead, MAGA looks surprised and caught off balance.

Now we get to hear MAGA whine about how unfair it is.  Trump wants a refund for gambling and losing money.  He does not understand that all investment is subject to risk.  Maybe the reason he went bankrupt running a casino.

Why all of this concern for Joe from MAGA?  A week ago they wanted him wheeled away in a trash bin because he was old and senile and unfit.   The Democrats could not help but listen to them, so in effect, MAGA gets some credit for pushing Joe out.  Good job MAGA.

It is still the  question, as it always has been, about who is fit to lead and  what policies the United States wants to guide it into the future.  If MAGA were proud of their policies and thought they were popular enough to win the hearts of voters, they could run on those and it wouldn't matter who they faced.

  Trump has been saying Biden is unfit to run for president OR be president.  I’ll bet he misses him already     He got his first wish…Biden will not run .    I hope he gets his second wish and..  Biden RESIGNS!   the presidency immediately!  ..leaving fish mouth to run against PRESIDENT Harris !*     (after she’s had several months to meet and greet world leaders ,while laying out Popular U.S. agendas) ??

Was he truly "alive before" is the right question. And does it matter ? It's not him leading America but those other politicians from his party. 

As a men and elder though I feel sorry for him, his failure to represent American values would be leaving him a bitter taste and when he leaves this world I dunno if he does it with content or remorseful...

That meme reminds me of a time I got pulled over by an RCMP while driving to another city when I was 17.

He walked up and said I was speeding and I told him my license said I could drive that fast so he asked to see it. He gave it a study looked at me and called me a liar so I showed him the small print on the folded edge that said tear along dotted line and pointed at the hi way lines. It was a joke but his head turned purple instantly, took me 10 minutes to cool him down.
