Putin threatens retaliation if US deploys long-range missiles in Germany

Russian President Vladimir Putin threatened a tit-for-tat response should Washington deploy long-range missiles in Germany, saying Moscow would answer by placing similar missiles within striking distance of the West.

Washington and Berlin announced earlier this month that the U.S. will deploy the arms in Germany starting in 2026, along with Tomahawk cruise missiles and developmental hypersonic weapons. The missiles "have significantly longer range than current land-based fires in Europe," the White House said in a statement..

Putin and his spokespeople on Russian TV have said that after they prevail in Ukraine, they want all of Georgia, Finland, the Baltic states and Poland to be Russian again as they were  in imperial days.  When somebody tells you over and over again who they are and what they want, it is best to believe them and prepare.  

And so Germany has made a move to show that if Russia invades another European country Germany will be able to strike military targets in Russia.  Strange as it may sound, preparing for war is sometimes the best way to prevent it.

Putin likes making others respond to his moves, this is him on the back foot responding to others.

He is increasingly the tail not the dog.

That is certainly right, all the Eastern European Nations had better take Vladimir Putins threats seriously, because there is little doubt he will attempt to make those threats become reality!

I believe that having a strong and well trained military is a necessary evil if a country what’s to maintain its sovereignty. I certainly believe that Germany has the ingenuity to prepare for any eventuality, as far as technology and attention to detail are concerned Germany 🇩🇪 I’d one of the leaders worldwide.

I certainly agree, but it’s very important to be ready for any eventuality.
