Grim Reaper 6 Posted July 29 #1 Share Posted July 29 Lao Tzu (also known as Laozi) was one of the most influential philosophers in Chinese history. He's also the author of the Tao Te Ching, a foundational text of Taoism—so it's no wonder we have so many fascinating Lao Tzu quotes that are still impactful today. He is believed to have lived around the 6th century BCE, although some scholars argue earlier dates. Lao Tzu served as a keeper of the archives at the royal court of the Zhou dynasty. Disillusioned by the political corruption and societal decline of his time, he left the court and made his way to China. 75 Lao Tzu Quotes About Life, Strength and Courage (msn.com) 2

lightly Posted July 31 #3 Share Posted July 31 (edited) ..been learning a little about Zen.. I think maybe getting old makes it easier to practice ? I get to do everything slower and more mindfully ..it’s safer. Camping in the desert has made it easy to get rid of everything we don’t need.. to leave more room for the few things we do need. Even emptying the “bucket” in the morning is a beautiful slow ritualistic walk where I switch the weight back&forth (easier on my back&chest) stopping here&there just to be with the morning 🥰 … Hot dogs are done. I always thought I would read them as soon as I am retired ("No, not 'retarded, Borat"). And by your remark I started reading the book. Didn't come very far, because of UM, lol.
