Ajay0 Posted August 3 #3 Share Posted August 3 India has lions, tigers and leopards as part of its large fauna but increased hunting and poaching have put them in danger of extinction. Hence conservation projects have been initiated for them and a number of wildlife sanctuaries put in place. The Indian cheetah became extinct in 1952 due to similar reasons, and African cheetahs were introduced in India in 2022 in a sprawling national park as an attempt to ease guilt and ensure its revival . It is hoped that the cheetahs will increase biodiversity, grasslands and eco-tourism.
