To be honest... I'm not impressed.
lightly Posted August 3 #3 Share Posted August 3 (edited) While walking in the woods I came upon a mama partridge and about 7 babies . She made one specific sound… and all the chicks instantly disappeared! by curling up under dry leaves! They Understood ! I Saw one actually clutch the leaf and roll over on his back, with the leaf Over him!!! All sorts of animals use sounds to attract or warn or Communicate with others. . Of like or unlike species. Most use voices…some even use things! Edited August 3 by lightly

Abramelin Posted August 3 #5 Share Posted August 3 Any parrot or crow is able to copy human voice, words, ànd ... even understand what they are 'saying'. Pepperberg and her grey parrot comes to mind. But let's not forget about apes able to talk using sign language. There was a Koko, a gorilla, and a bonobo I forgot the name of. They had 'conversations' with their human caretakers using sign language.
Ell Posted August 3 #6 Share Posted August 3 Pff. Scientists ... I suspect that if I asked a chimp, the chimp might say that some scientists wear dirty diapers.

Wasn’t Koko the gorilla the one that implied gorillas go to a “Comfortable hole” to die …..I always found this comforting somehow…🤷♂️ 1
