So you think somehow that 'word salad talk' is associated mostly with the female population? If you do, then what I can I say?!

Did I offend you?

Not at all. Why would you think you did? I am curious though on why do you think that 'word salad talk' means that I am a female.

AI? Or more a chatbot?

That's a really useless idea, ain't it? I mean is the thing containing instructions on where to return it to? Otherwise why not just load a satellite with a million $ and fire it at the sun? Same return value... maybe slightly more if we can watch the impact

I like this idea. We send an a.i. to an alien civilization. The a.i. ends up acting like a sapient computer virus. They get a skynet with access to advanced technology. Which wipes them out and then it comes for us. Brilliant or a good movie idea.

Imagine this could happen at one point in the future?! But are we going to be able to hack their systems (if their systems are compatible to ours) and then get to bring this technology here. But why we would like to wipe out another civilization?

Im beginning to suspect that Andersson is a woman. The way "he" spews word sallad nonsense and gets stuck on the most trivial crap ever.

There's no way to know unless he tells us, but I have the opposite view from you in that respect and that is why I use the pronoun he.   You need to check your misogyny.

Monkey curiosity  (and yes, we all know it killed the cat - which is why some have expressed caution about it).

Basically, we want to know whether there is anyone else in the next valley.   And (subject to the proviso above) it does not real harm.   No actual cats are killed in the process.

Obviously if the USAF told us all where they are keeping all their crashed alien spacecraft and their occupants, we wouldn't need to look for signs of alien life ;)    But the USAF seem to delight in watching others waste vast fortunes looking for something they already, secretly, have ..... :P

Curiosity has always been the driving force. We want to know if we are alone or there are others around. I think the answer is not that difficult and it's not if life exists but when we will find it or it could find us.

Coming back to my post that you replied to but you went to another direction. If you consider the zero evidence argument made by astrobeing then accordingly we should have never funded SETI in the first place and furthermore we should stop funding them altogether because they haven't produced anything so far.

So who said anything about hacking. Our tech might be an ancient operating system to them. They find it, upload it, and chaos ensues.

It could be and you are right. Nice thought, what happens after they upload it or let's say what it could happen to them.

Lets just say that you remind me of  women when it comes to debating.

You keep going about this as if there is any validity in your argument.

I’m not sure that’s an insult.  Every time I debate my wife, she wins!  Sigh.

Yes, when it comes to other people's experiences and statements such as the statement you made earlier (random) on whether I am a male or female.

I don't think it is a good idea just now. Then again, I don't really know much about how AI evolves and refines itself over time.

It will become completely independent at one point.
