Call for Watchdog to investigate Farage’s ‘dangerous comments’ on riots

The Commons standards watchdog should hold Nigel Farage to account over his “dangerous comments” following the week’s violent disorder in the wake of the Southport murders, a Liverpool MP has said.

Farage has released two videos since three children were murdered in Southport last week. In the first, he questioned whether police were withholding information about who was responsible for the murders.

It came at a time when false information was circulating on social media that a Muslim asylum seeker was responsible, which fuelled disorder at a mosque in Southport.

In a second video, Farage challenged Keir Starmer’s argument that the violent protests were the fault of the far right, saying it was “a reaction to fear, to discomfort, to unease that is out there shared by tens of millions of people”.

No one is addressing the underlying cause which is politicians subverting the democratic will of the people on immigration. Just like they did on the EU, but Cameron messed that up for them.

What is banning EDL or attacking Farage going to do? It doesn`t fix the underlying problem, immigration continues on regardless. There is worse to come too for Starner because he is a Communist. His plans to nationalise vast areas of the UK economy have already been made public. All that from a guy who got even less votes that Corbyn, whose Communism we rejected.

Rather than ban this, crack those skulls, put the police here and there, how about simply `listening to the people` to give them the policies they want.

And what "will of the people" would that be?

You kept saying the Tories would announce a referendum on immigration before the election. That never happened, despite your claims of inside information.

So, how do you claim to know what the people want on immigration without them voting on it.

An observation:

What I noticed in his address was immediately after saying his remarks he said "I'll take two questions" and then pulled what looked like a piece of paper from his inside jacket and put it down in front of him.  He answered the first question(was actually two from the first person) then gazed down at, I presume the piece of paper, and answered then next question.

We did that in 2016, and immigration immediately increased from 230,000 per year to 650,000 per year. How about simply stop pandering to the populists and put in some grown-up political and economic policies in place?

Even let's assume you're right and the right somehow recovers from its worst defeat in history I'm five yearsFive years is plenty to break these right wing extremists. Should keep them down again until the next moderate government.

I'm getting Justin Trudeau vibes from this new UK Prime Minister Stammer guy. 

Shouldn't all forms of violence be condemned no matter who's committing the violence? 

So far, from what I've seen from his official X account is he's singling out the "so-called far right" as entirely responsible and threatened to go after, by swiftly charging and a prison sentence, them for doing or saying anything - even on social media. 

IMHO, violence is violence and should be always condemned in all forms. One side should not be given a free pass to commit the same offenses just because one side "started the altercation", "threw the first punch", "smashed the first window", etc... 

It's the leader of the Nation's responsibility to be a leader for all the citizens. 

Currently, the UK's new leader is not doing this. He's appeasing the situation. Only making it worse. He needs to condemn all the violence and take control. 

If he doesn't then the alternative will eventually become extremely difficult to manage and will result in a more extreme form of governance to contain what could have been contained by simply condemning all the violence to begin with.

• "Are all immigrants bad or is it ok if they come from Europe and then become your wife? (Referring to Farage's wife Kirsten Farage who is from Hamburg, Germany).
• "Do you like jokes as long as they are not aimed at you and do you have the same approach to milkshake? (Farage has had several milkshakes thrown at him during his political career).
• "Even though you say you're not a racist do you think some racists use your words as encouragement to racist things?"

Signing off, the Brummie wrote: "Let me know hunni!" and added as a P.S. that he chose the font "Britain sans Black" as he thought that "it would appeal" to Farage.
