An unidentified object in night sky

Last night I saw this unidentified object in the night sky, this weird looking spacecraft rod with 28 bright white lights attached to its rod, rising in an up right position then stops this object had no sound coming from it and as it is rises it suddenly pauses it looks at me and starts moving towards me then stops and looks at me then starts moving slowly upwards into the night sky. As the object rises the bright white lights starts to diminish as its going upwards then the whole object of the bottom starts moving inwards as it ascends slowly upwards and it went completely invisible and it was gone.

I couldn't quite take a picture of what it was until it was gone but I drew it on paper then took a picture of it.  This is what the unidentified object looked like when I saw it.

Interesting story my friend, I have never been lucky enough to see a UFO or a UAP.

Anyway, welcome to the forum, hope to see you out there posting!:tu:

Interesting story and I am a believer that there's much to this universe we don't understand.

I wonder if others could see it or if it was just something meant for you?

You seem to be suggesting you sensed a sentient connection with the object. I also believe this happens sometimes.

@jay1978

Out of curiosity, without giving any personal details, did this happen in the USA? What state? Was it near an ocean or large body of water? Was it near mountains or a wilderness? Was it near, or in, a populated area? Approximately what time was it? About how large was it? How long did the experience last?

I was on my neighbors balcony around roughly 10:35 pm.  My neighbor started talking about there was no clouds and no wind.  Then at approximately around 10:39 pm that is when I saw the unidentified object over the building to where I was viewing from my neighbors balcony and this actually happened and it's not a story.  This actually happened where I am incase where it happened in around Gladstone on Arthur Street Ottawa Ontario Canada at 10:39 pm.  And if others like I that saw the same thing we are definitely not alone in the universe. And I am a total witness to an unidentified spacecraft

Let me ask a few questions, keep in mind m not an evil skeptic but I wasn't there all I have to go on is a story and forgive me for not jumping to believe everything at face value.

You said you were with a talking with neighbor on their balcony why didn't either of you get even a bad picture?
Did the neighbor collaborate what you are telling her?

My wife got a great video of a cape launch the other night on the fly.

Something this extraordinary in the sky it would be basically impossible you and your friend are the only witnesses did you do any actual research to gain some collaborative supporting evidence of the alleged sighting?

How were you able to count 28 lights?

Why would you believe a spacecraft as you call it did and can "looked" at you? Was that a craft or living creature? Did you see a pilot? I'm a bit lost on it looked at you.

To you it happened to us it's a story.

You make a huge leap from you allegedly saw something in the sky and admit you dont know what it is but contradict that saying it was a spacecraft, if it's a spacecraft then it's identified.

As I asked you before did others see what you say you saw?

Your story doesn't convince me aliens are here I would need more than a story.

I'm just trying to piece it all together of what I last night, that is all.

I know what I thought I saw but people on here think I making up stories about it and that I am trying my best to put a solid evidence on what I saw last night but no one believes me and I am not making up stories and not making it up either.   I know what I saw

And like I said I'm not an evil skeptic for asking questions to put pieces together myself and like I said all we here have so far is a story and I'm up for further discussions

To be fair, all of us lack "bedside manner" or tact from time to time. Some most of the time. lol?

The UM forum has alot of rough edges, but I don't believe any of the commenters bear ill will.

From what I read, nobody is accusing you of making anything up. You experienced something and there were questions to get a better grasp of what happened.

Nobody has questioned whether or not you actually experienced something.

I like the approach of addressing every possibility.

So, we can consider things like an unidentified flying object (which it literally was), a spaceship, an experimental aircraft, a hallucination, a medical issue, a prank, military flares, and so many further possibilities.

I don't think it's easy to share experiences like these, for obvious reasons. Ridicule and doubt, to say the least.

Thank you for sharing your experience and putting the effort to share as much as you could.

Most of the questions are intended to allow a reader to put themselves "in your shoes" to gain a better understanding of the perspective and experience.

You must understand that there are alot of hoaxers, so there will be an ever-present doubt.

so.... considering every possibilty.... after reading what you experienced and seeing the illustration, my first thought was a drone with LED light bars.

I have no way of knowing if that's a possible explanation without more details.

Was it small enough to be a drone? If it was in the country, I might have considered a hobbyist drone. Maybe it was a police surveilance drone with LED light bars?

These are just considerations from a random person, reacting to the experience you shared.

Perhaps we will never know. That's why it's called Unexplained Mysteries. lol?

You know you summed that up just about perfectly and you engaged my mind into a question I forgot to ask, it's not a "loaded" question but in almost all UFO cases it is a guess,

How big was this thing?

In that I was really surprised just how good her video came out.

When I drive out 30 miles to work it's fairly rural and there is an RV part where snow birds go ( central Florida )

For a while now they fly wings, that being I was into the RC hobby all my life I can guess we're about three to four foot wide lots of LEDs and of course they fly in ways that seem to defy physics.
One day I stopped at a convenience store for a drink and coming out a fellow was really upset over the UFOs he saw on his way there I questioned him and I have no doubt he had seen the RC craft,he wasn't pleased with that.
No I'm not saying this threads case is a rocket launch or RC craft but those possibilities like the others you mentioned do have to be ruled out.

Is it possible it was just an elaborate construct made of many joined drones outfitted with lights?

Drones are so advanced that you can have big ones made with lights that can flash in different patterns -or no pattern- and they can be joined together to make for a seemingly convincing spectacle.

Not trying to be a wet blanket but it is better to consider mundane possibilities as they are often -if not always- the actual explanation.

The only way to get to the UNexplained mysteries is to work through the potentially 'mundane' solutions (I don't find them mundane..) The thing is, no-one has perfect knowledge of every possible flying craft and lighting configuration, every possible aerial phenomena, etc.  So when you say you've ruled stuff out, I would have to question whether you really did so, to justify that sudden belief that we are no longer alone in the Universe.  That's quite a big call - and NOBODY has, to date, been able to provide real evidence of something unexplainable.  Nobody, despite the absolute bazillion cameras now out there.  Gosh Darn.

To me this sounds like a drone, most likely an emergency services surveillance drone.  BTW depending on atmospherics and wind strength / direction, it may make no sound that you could hear, so that isn't a 'thing'..

Don't take it to heart, we realise you wanted it to be super special, but it likely isn't.  And frankly, the lack of any video ... well.. like I said.. Gosh Darn.

As an aside... From another old thread, I offered the following suggestions to anyone who wants to be the first person ever to film a UFO decently...

Here are some hints, roughly in order of effectiveness at reducing camera shake, the first 2 are especially good:

  1. lean against something (fence/wall/veranda post/car roof/letterbox etc)
  2. carry a lump of blu-tac and use that to stick your camera onto whatever you picked in 1
  3. use both hands to cradle the phone/camera, and position your finger on the shutter release button in advance so you are not hunting for it
  4. press it hard into your forehead and/or nose, and tuck your elbows firmly against your sides
  5. if you're not wearing fancy clothes :) , sit on the ground and use your knees as a support (or just sit on a chair and get comfy)
  6. carry a tripod (although most of the little portable ones are useless pieces of ..., so refer back to 1)
  7. breathe steadily
  8. turn off digital zoom and leave it off - it sucks creates false detail
  9. zoom right out, as well as in - camera shake gets worse as you zoom in and the background stuff can help with analysis
  10. practise all this stuff in advance, and if in doubt, shoot video rather than stills and keep shooting until it is gone
  11. finally, if all else fails, buy a compact camera with image stabilisation (IS) built into it.

One of these days I'll update the list and expand on some of it.  For the moment, if you can just try to do the bolded items .. :D

Several nights ago my wife on the fly with an old crap phone got a very good video of a cape launch so i see zero way to dismiss getting videos the way many people do.

You see me get in hot water all the time from believers who are simply angry they have zero to back up their claims and its my fault i wont believe stories at face value.

Wow, that's a vivid and intense experience! The lack of sound and deliberate movements, like pausing and looking at you, are particularly intriguing. Did you feel any sensations or emotions during the encounter? Have you checked for any similar sightings in your area recently?
