LONDON — Elon Musk could be summoned for a grilling by British MPs over X’s role in race riots that have rocked the U.K. over the last week, as well as his own incendiary comments about the violence.

Labour MPs Chi Onwurah and Dawn Butler, who are competing to chair parliament’s science, innovation and technology committee, both told POLITICO they’d press the billionaire X owner and other technology executives to answer questions about the role of social media platforms amid mounting unrest in the U.K.

Apparently Elon Musk said that race riots in the UK are inevitable and was heavily criticised and came under fire by government figures for saying that civilian war in the UK looks inevitable.

Musk also said that the British Police response is one-sided and when similar disturbances/riots occur or crimes committeed by non-white people the British Police deals leass harshly with them.

Musk has been accused of the role of his platform X for speeding misinformation in relation to the identity of the attacker and for re-instating the account of high-profile far-right activist Tommy Robinso who co-founded the English Defense League.

Are you from the UK?

If so, do you think there is a two-tier police response system? Is Musk correct?

Yes, UK.

There isn't a two-tier system as reported by the Right. As the police are a finite resource, they react and deploy in a way they think proportionate. They often get things wrong- when they policed a protest against Met Police brutality towards women (about Sarah Everett, who was murdered by a Met officer), they rugby-tackled and handcuffed women who were posing no threat to public order and received a lot of criticism.

When there is a crowd threatening violence to another group, they may well be seen to be more violent towards the aggressors than the defenders. It is a decision they make on the ground to preserve order. The far right has been making an issue of a woman (Nicola Wilcox) who wandered into the "front line" of a riot, carrying two lollipops. She says she was trying to be kind to the police. She was actually being provocative and trying to inhibit the police. She was told to go away in very clear language, refused, and was eventually arrested.

She is a wicked old bat playing victim, and the reporter is the wife of a Reform UK Ltd MP (Reform is a far-right company masquerading as a political party).

This is a reasonable summary of the two-tier myth:

“There are ‘tiers’ in policing response,” said Graham Wettone, who spent 30 years in frontline public order roles with the Met and is the author of a book, How to Be a Police Officer. “Of course there are – because you make operational decisions appropriate to the severity of the situation. But there are not tiers based on preference or favouritism.”

And he's correct. :-

"Last night, in Bordesley Green in the east of Birmingham, hundreds of British Muslim men and youths – most of them masked up, some carrying weapons – gathered near a McDonald’s. They claimed to be defending the local mosque from a rumoured far-right protest. But the protest turned out to be fake news, and I’m not entirely sure what frightening their neighbours and doing hand-brake turns around a roundabout – as some were filmed doing – had to do with protecting their elders anyway.Worse than that, some of these plucky defenders of their community seemed to be oddly indiscriminate in who they went after. A group of men, armed with a metal pole, chased LBC’s Fraser Knight out of the area. As soon as he arrived, says Knight, this bespectacled journalist and his crew were accused of being the EDL and told they would ‘regret’ coming to Bordesley Green.

Worst of all, a man was badly beaten by a group of masked youths outside of a pub, the Clumsy Swan. Punters, who had hitherto been enjoying a karaoke night, were barricaded inside. The pub was attacked, too. A car also had its windows smashed in, and there are other reports of criminal damage in the area."

As almost always, the Far right was responsible for the violence. The man who was assaulted at the Clumsy Swan pub has been banned by the landlady for inciting the violence.

A punter who appeared to be punched and kicked outside a pub will be barred for inciting violence, according to the assistant manager, after a demonstration against recent far-right riots.

Footage shared on social media appears to show a man attacked by counter-protesters in Birmingham on Monday night after he appeared to say something at a small group passing by.

She also had nothing but praise for the majority of the counter protestors:

Mrs Ward said other members of the counter-protest "couldn't apologise enough" on behalf of those responsible for the assault.

'Proud of multi-cultural city'

She said people on the march were "more sensible than not", adding: "The majority of people that were on the march last night stayed behind, supported us, they offered to pay for damages and everything.

Why are you always talking the UK down? Do you revel in the disorder? The UK is not being shown in a good light around the world. After all, it was your Brexit that opened the UK's borders to the whole world.

One more question. How did Brexit opened the UK's borders to the whole world? I consider this as a move to reduce immigration from Europe which seems to be where most immigrants are coming from. It's very close to the UK (and cheap I suppose)

In a nutshell, giving just agriculture as an example and not one of the professions: one of the 4 'freedoms' of the single market (SM) is the free movement of people (FOM). This meant that if a farmer in the UK, say, needed 50 seasonal workers for harvesting, he was free to advertise for staff anywhere in the SM because UK citizens could not do that work (for good reasons, it only paid £1200/month, it required living on site, and it was not a permanent job). It suited the UK and suited the workers (they were earning twice or 3x what they earned in Slovakia, they saved the money and bought a house back home). Many would return year after year.

Professional workers could also take advantage of this: lawyers, engineers, architects, doctors, nurses, etc. As long as they spoke the local lingo their professional qualifications were recognised. UK musicians could tour in the EU without visas and customs checks, and vice versa.

There were restrictions: individual countries could stop this movement if it contravened their own policies, workers had to actually work and not just get a holiday (they would be removed after 3 months) and really it was just to facilitate business.

Illegal immigration was controlled by the Dublin Agreement- asylum seekers from outside Europe had to seek asylum in the first country they entered. This was never the UK as we were an island to the North of mainland Europe.

Immigration was about 230,000 the year before we did Brexit.

When we did Brexit at the end of 2020, we ended FOM, ended the Dublin Agreement, and introduced an Australian style points-based system. As leaving FOM left hundreds of thousands of job shortages (more than 900,000 overall) in vital industries such as road haulage, healthcare, social care, abattoirs, farming, fish processing, etc we encouraged immigration from all over the world, and to ensure we got the workers (they were travelling thousands of miles, not just 20 miles over the English Channel) we allowed them to bring their families.

Immigration jumped to over 500,000 per year and in 2023 it was 1.2 million. Just imagine that- the UK govt legally allowed over 1 million people to settle in the UK! (The final net figure was 680, 000 as a few hundred thousand left the UK).

To compensate for the 4% hit to the UK economy brought about through Brexit, immigration is estimated to remain at around 500,000 per year until the 2030s.

Brexiters are crazy- it is the only time in history a country has voted to both make itself poorer and increase immigration.

I did skip through for time.

Did I miss the part where they were assaulting police officers?

Or burning cars?

Or looting shops?

Or trying to burn down a hotel with people inside?

There's no violence in this video at all. The idiots I'm the cars should be arrested for dangerous driving. The others are literally just standing there with flags.

So no, not thugs.

Based on the flags, they're supporting Palestine so not a far right issue.

So all in all, no, I wouldn't expect them to be branded far right thugs.

What an odd question.

I believe that Scotland Yard now intends to extradite US citizens including Musk to serve Jail time for Inciting rioters in the UK on social media.

Good luck on that. What Musk said is not inciting riots and he would be fully protected under US freedom of speech laws.

Well if it was breaking US law, there would be no need for extradition would there?

Not that I expect the US will extradite anyone. They wouldn't even extradite that woman who killed a teenager by driving down the wrong side of the road then fled the country.

One of the most fickle allies imaginable, the US.

Comrade Kier Stalin has really let the power go to his head.

Not only is musk correct and telling the truth about two tier policing,he was also right to call out stalin about not wanting to protect ALL communities.

Not only is he banning free speech in the UK but is also trying to stop people in America from criticizing his Orwellian regime as well.

Maybe musk should sue for libel.

I do stand up for Britain , it's culture and it's customs, and the British public.

Not so much for these woke professional protesters ,who protest whatever is flavour of the month while undermining their own country.

Do you think these hypocrites would be calling for more refugees if they were relocated into their leafy suburbs instead of the inner cities?

I don't think so.

I don't think anyone is calling for more refugees. I'm certainly not, I think opening our borders to the whole world, as Boris Johnson did, was mad. Our record-breaking legal immigration (was it 680,000 or 780,000 last year?) and increasing illegal immigration is a result of Brexit. We have to accept the hand we were played, even though we were misled. Setting fire to libraries and food banks and attacking and injuring police won't change things.

Starmer has pledged to try to reverse things, we should support him, not allow bad actors in foreign countries to undermine us.

No Starmer is digging his own grave,he is completely mirroring Trudeau by getting elected on a platform of big change.

Canadians are now screaming for Trudeau to be gone and the Conservatives have a commanding 20 plus points lead in the polls.

Says someone who has done nothing but whinge about our democratically mandated exit from a European political union that nobody ever even voted to join in the first place, but one that was imposed on us through stealth without our consent, and who is hell-bent on selling our country out to a wannabe federal European Superstate where we would ultimately be answerable to Brussels. And you can't see the irony.!!

As soon as Labour were elected I told a Canadian friend of mine the UK had just elected Trudeau on steroids. It seems I was right.

I really hope that corrupt "ahhh umm drink box water bottle sorta thing" Trudedope gets his backside handed to him at the next General Election and Pierre Polievre becomes the next Canadian PM. It's great watching him ripping Truedope to shreds every single time in Parliament with actual facts. A very intelligent man.

While Musk has done some amazing work in the space and technology sectors, his recent penchant for getting into arguments with public figures and peddling divisive political rhetoric on Twitter really isn't doing him any favors - he doesn't even seem to fact check anything he posts.

Apparently last week he shared a Tweet suggesting that Kier Starmer was going to send rioters to detention camps on the Falkland Islands, which he promptly deleted when it was pointed out that it was completely false.

Quote

Musk, who purchased Twitter in 2022 before renaming it X, shared an image posted by Ashlea Simon, co-leader of far-right party Britain First, that showed a fake headline from the Telegraph newspaper claiming "[British Prime Minister] Keir Starmer considering building 'emergency detainment camps' on the Falkland Islands."

The Telegraph confirmed “no such article has ever been published” by the newspaper, and a an X community note clarification was added to Simon's initial tweet, reporting it as fake, before her post was also taken down.

I've also read that some people have started boycotting Tesla over his recent behavior.

Well, outside looking in, I can see why Musk is saying this about the police.  Look at Rotterham and the police not protecting the girls from the grooming and exploitation because they didn't want to accuse a certain ethnicity of these crimes.  We have it here, too in Canada, but, not to that extent.  It is really sad that the division is being exploited by the government.   This whole situation is quite sad

The harder the police beat you, the more they love you.  If they refrain from beating you, then they don't consider you their own (King James Version, 1611/1987, Proverbs 13:24).

This is not just Rotherham but most cities with a sizable population of people with a certain ethnicity.

Not only do the police not protect the girls but they cover up the crimes of the paedo gangs, for the sake of diversity.
