Far-right protestors call to "defend our island"- a Blackpool traffic island

Trending on Twitter/X as “the tragic roundabout” (it really is that humiliating), some 10 people are seen holding England flags on the land, with ITV News’ Paul Brand reporting shouts of “England ‘til I die” and “take the island back” were heard from the far-right individuals.

Well, they did take one ‘island’, but the temporary occupation of a roundabout in the seaside town of Blackpool is hardly an accomplishment. Far-right ridiculed for ‘occupying’ Blackpool roundabout | indy100

  • The title was changed to Far-right protestors call to "defend our island"- a Blackpool traffic island

This kind of movement is only going to grow.  People are sick of their governments openly, blatantly destroying their culture and sense of security.  It will come to the US sooner or later, and sooner if this election is as flawed as the last was.  It will be instructive to see how the new government in Britain reacts to these protests.  Do you think they'd put troops in the streets if the Right's protests grew more widespread?  Would you support that?

No need. As soon as the counter protesters came out (massively outnumbering the far right rioters), they scurried back home as quick as they could.

The two-tier policing is on full display, as your lying eyes can see.  Not that the Tories would be doing much better.  The West - or rather people who have hugely benefitted from the ethos of the West and are generally immune to the consequences of their political actions - has/have decided that the concept of the nation state is now lame, and are hard at work dissolving it wherever they see it.  They just need to ignore and/or outlive the people being trod by their gross social experiments, and remain confused by their geopolitical rivals' chuckling.

To these people British culture is a good drink on Saturday, a punch up, and a kebab on the way home. The national dish they love is chicken tikka masala, washed down with Kingfisher lager which shows they are tolerant of all races.

Their most cherished institutions are the bookies and the pub. "Signing on day" (when they collect their benefits) is known as "Golden Eagle Day".

We won't need troops; we'll need a granny to say "Boo" to them. Their greatest fear is that they may need to do a day's work.

So I see four people at an allegedly "far right" (is there any other kind if you're on the left?) protest.  Is this actually news or worthy of a thread on UM?

If Israel wins its own war in defending itself, then you should be able to defend your country as well.

...well they're born this way. I have found that often right wingers have a more "tribal defender" personality type, these folks followed their genetic predisposition to go territorial on a traffic island...

One shouldn't laugh about it, it's horrible through and through, after the kids got stabbed these things are extremely emotionally loaded and my comment sounds funny but I actually see it that way.

In a weird twisted way with all the arrests and such the UK is fighting its own "front row infantry" who see themself as defending women and children of their flock... I don't think it's the right approach from both sides.

The righties are attacking people who weren't involved in the incident, making integration harder for everybody... tribal reactions one can/could handle better if they'd feel their country has things under control.

It's sad.

So you think we should deploy troops against these rioters?

I don't think that's necessary but good to know where your head's at.

Why would they?

Where did this daft suggestion originate?

We've had far larger and more damaging riots in the past.  Sadly.

No. I agree. It's just a bit of fun. I should have put it in the jokes section really.
